Pinging, if you're watching the map like your supposed to why should I have to ping my lane?

So I'm just a lowly b2 soon to be b3 and i got paired with a g3 (didn't bother to check). The game we played was lost mostly because of a bad drag play where Enemy Zoe came down to drag at a very bad time and got a triple while our g3 Xerath continued to farm, we then lost drag and 2 towers from it. What ensued was a couple roams from zoe with the aide of some pesky Fiddlesticks pinks the Xerath said that in higher gold pinging doesn't happen because everyone is looking at the map. My argument was that if it takes no effort and it helps ur team why not do it, instead of assuming that they are watching the map at that point in time why not ping and be 100 percent sure.

just to clarify I am not blaming xerath for the fights we lost in bot lane or that I wasn't constantly checking my map, nor am i trying to vent because i think xerath ultimately lost us the game like i said im a bronzey and I legit wanna know what higher elo players are thinking, i think I have decent map awareness but maybe it isn't as good as It should be.

In high elo people will ping nonstop to make sure you know exactly what is happening. If a katarina leaves mid I give a solid 5-6 missing pings along with some 'be careful' pings to overextended lanes.

The gold was mad because he made a mistake and wanted an excuse.

don't listen to whoever told you that, even if someone is looking at the map, pinging is meant to show intent:

OH LOOK OUR WARWICK IS RUNNING TOWARDS BOT, GET READY FOR AN ALL IN GANK :DDD (all ins and dies) oh, he was just attacking scuttle.......

and to communicate just in case some one dosent see. plus, mia isn't always for lanes. if you ping mia on a specific part of the jungle, that communicates you saw someone there, but don't know what they plan to do. ping mia on a drag pit? your communicating you believe the enemy is there. occasionally if someone on your team is baby-raging (say jungler came in for a gank, you just stood farming) he will mia ping just for the "?" to express "wtf bro?". and also you have to remember, this is solo que, nobody knows what strategies or foolishness is going on in someone elses head. when we look at pro games, they usually have some kind of voice comm, so they don't need pings because if they had something to say, they would just out and say it.

and that's why we have pings.
