This in reply to GhostCrawlers recent Q&A in which he stated Zed has buffs lined up for 7.3.

I'm hoping that as an Ex-Zed player (Having dropped him for other mid-lane mages), I'm hoping that you will consider looking at how the Lethality changes effect him before you consider giving him a direct buff.

I don't like one of my more enjoyed champions both thematically and gameplay-wise, being banned constantly in ranked when I would like to pick him. No one wants another Zed meta, and I sure as hell would like to be able to pick him in a ranked without a 70% ban-rate again.

Especially since you made his kit considerably more healthy in the Assassin Update. The CD being lowered on the W per champion hit is godly.

I ask that you don't jump the gun you like you did with Azir, and pull the buffs until you see how these upcoming itemization buffs will effect him. I don't really think Zed is weak, his itemization just is.

That way we don't have 10000 posts saying how "broken" Zed is, and we don't have me being able to play Zed only once in 10000 games.

We'll definitely be looking at the impacts of Lethality, Duskblade and Edge of Night buffs on Zed before shipping any Zed buffs. Those buffs are in 7.2, Zed changes would be in 7.3, so we'll have a reaction period if needed. Same logic applies to some other 7.3 changes that might get impacted too (Jayce and Rengar nerfs).

As far as Zed details go we'll be looking at fairly small stuff. Changes currently in testing are increased Shadow Reaping grace period and a slightly longer W duration, though those are still somewhat experimental.

W missile speed should be considered. and how fast you can snap cast it to swap immediately after it reaches a range there is a clunky delay on it.

Pretty sure the delay was intentionally added to add Counterplay. It's like how LB's W isn't instant Snap-back anymore, and has a 0.3sec grace period. It makes her a little more clunky, but it adds more time for the enemy to CC her etc.

I appreciate the reply. Nice to hear you'll be looking at a reaction period. The Lethality buffs are not small, and I'd hate to see Zed basically removed from the game again.

It's nice to hear they're at least only usability buffs, imo Zed shouldn't be some faceroll Q + E bot, so it's nice to hear you won't be buffing his damage. I like him being a high skill cap champion, but I like being able to play him as well.
Imo I don't think he needs the buffs, especially because anytime he sees them his ban-rate sky rockets, but that is my opinion. If anything I'd like to see them held back until 7.4, as 2 weeks isn't much time to gauge data.

I main zed for two seasons now, his damage doesn't need buffs it's insanely high right now with the items and masteries. Furthermore I don't think the delay on his ultimate should be removed as some people suggest. It just adds counterplay and good zed players will find ways to play around that.

I would like to see his waveclear buffed slightly. It would make roaming easier and you don't get shoved in by mages all the time.

what about reverting the nerf on his W CD?

right now it simply feels like you have 0 chance to do anything on lane with the massive CD. after using W you are too vulnerable for too long.

Personally, I think zed really needs buffs. He is a pretty weak spot right now, he isn´t as popular as he is, and he is way too unefficient compared to what he was some patches ago. I believe that even imaqtpie (which is an ADC main) agreed on buffing Zed. And I don´t think the Lethality buff, Duskblade and Edge of Night buffs are enough to bring Zed´s winrate back up!

The hate for Zed is kind of undeserved, but something they have to deal with since not having to play someones favourite champion ever is not good

Wait what? Zed is getting buffed? I am a Zed main and he DOES NOT need buffs. Look at my match history. He just doesn't need them. Lethality needs the change not Zed. I can still do everything with Zed that I can do just not as much. For example I cannot do anything against armor and late game is much harder, but still I do hella damage and landing multiple Qs is rewarding enough.
