So why not introduce a remade Pillager to Rift as a hybrid item?

For those that don't know, Pillager grants 80 AD, 25% crit chance, and inflicts a bleed that deals 150% of your bonus AD over 3 seconds on crits.

So I was looking over Riot's preseason update page and thought to myself, 'You know, they're adding this great Rageblade but there really isn't a Crit option for folks who are considering hybrid.'

Then it hit me. Infinity Edge is probably going to be returning to Dominion. So why not re-purpose Pillager to fill the gap?

item 1026 +item 1018 +item 3122 Grants 50 AD, 50 AP, 25% Crit chance, and: Unique passive Bleedout: Your basic attacks and spells inflict a bleed that deals 75% of your bonus AD and AP in magic damage over 3 seconds. Critical strikes double the bleed damage. You gain Vision (but not True Sight) on bleeding foes.

See, the big problem that hybrid have always suffered from is a lack of appreciable scaling since it doesn't get as potent with Crit and it doesn't benefit from Deathcap that much. But with this remade Pillager when combined with Rageblade, suddenly you have two sources of multiplicative scaling to feed into each other. Sure your penetration would be lousy, but it would still be pretty solid against softer targets.

Thoughts?

Indeed.

Since hybrid penetration isn't a thing, for a hybrid build to really work you need at least two sources of alternative stat multiplication to make it functional (because just overloading items with stats isn't a good idea). Pillager combined with Rageblade would cover the bases nicely. From there you could just pick up pure AD or AP items as needed to round out the build.

The changes to the mysteries and current hybrid items will help I need proper runes but I will manage I'm going to turn kennel into a hybrid marksman ninja he is. I have a build planned. And I think it may work but I wish there was more variety for hybrids

item 3122 + item 1037 + item 1031 = new http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/3/3b/Atma's_Impaler_item.png/revision/latest?cb=20130319090010 pls.

make the bleed damage scale with the wielders bonus health or base ad.

That would actually be pretty neat. But Riot really doesn't seem to like the idea of AD/Armor items since it would be a pretty clear 'win more' item for top lane.

Alas.

Either way, Wicked Hatchet is a really neat item and I would love to see it used in more stuff.

i think since cleaver exists that wouldnt be a poblem anymore. previously you didnt really have a counter to an ad/armor item other than the item itself.

but since cleaver is a good rush for fighters, it would be a good counter to such an atmas. plus, hatchet makes a great base for a fighter item imo, since it makes those low crit chances you get off items like triforce, or the hatchet itself more worthwile. you only have to crit once every 3 seconds to keep the passive up and use it to full effectiveness. so the passive would not be much more effective on an adc with 70% crit chance than a fighter with 20% to 30%.

id also say in combination with ghostblade if it didnt get its crit removed.

That's a pretty good point. Cleaver would be offering quite a bit more raw AD to its user than the remade Atma's you suggested. And that's in addition to the %Armor shred. Cleaver beats Atma's, Atma's would likely be the choice against raw AD picks like the two Hydras and possibly even Ghostblade.

Item counters are a good thing, right?

You aren't hoping for this remade Atma's for the purpose of having a new Crit item for Garen, are you?

of course :) but triforce fighters could probably use this aswell. im just missing a good armor/ad option sicne atmas removal.

why would you go crit when you go hybrid?

Because the suggested item would allow AP to scale with Crit.

Pause for a moment and think about what you could do with this item when combined with Rageblade and the new Hurricane.

One BUMP for the sake of strategic diversity.
