The April fools joke was a great teaching tool for me.

For those of you who are unaware, Riot's April fools this year is the inclusion of "Advanced Bots" in unranked games. However in reality you were playing against normal players the whole time

So I just came out of a game where Riot was "testing Advanced bots". and as much as a joke as it, the last laugh is that it did EXACTLY what the basic bots are meant to do. Teach.

Now, I would ADORE to relay every little detail about the game, but that would get boring fast.

so, long story short my entire team fell for the "advanced bots" botlane lost to a varus thresh combo because their thresh was excellent at his skillshots. eventually they grouped up mid and managed to take the mid inhib. (eventually the bot one too.) we did punish them for a bit with split pushing. eventually, we lost.

However, because I thought we were playing bots, if NOTHING ELSE it made me more aware of advanced game mechanics.

what they taught (or at least made me more aware of.): shot calling split pushing positioning warding disengaging map awareness target selection

So in the end, the April fools joke turned a bad game into a powerful teaching tool. for this, I am glad for the experience.
