Really wish Shen was strong

His winrate has been below 49% since Riot broke his knees. It's nearly impossible to carry with him now, has his kit has basically become his ultimate.

His damage is a joke, his utility is laughable and easy to miss, especially considering the abundance of Poppy, and he's just worse at peeling for his carries in comparison to nearly any other tank top laner.

It's a shame. I really love Shen as a character and I wish I could reliably carry with him. I know he's not generally a "carry" type champion, but now even if I were to get absurdly fed, I feel utterly useless besides ulting at the right time.

I have to agree with you, his damage is a joke. What gets me is that any other tank does more damage and is tankier.

I get he has a global ultimate, but blocking 250 damage at rank one is kind of a joke with all the damage right now.

My thoughts, make his E hitbox bigger, maybe add damage reduction back to his E maybe even 25%?

Possibly reduce energy costs?

I think a wider E hitbox plus reverting the damn nerfs to his Q would be sufficient. Or increasing his base attack damage.

You can't also forget he has the lowest kills, gold and damage of any top laner in the game literally out of 55 champions that frequently top he's dead last in every category. I'm more than a little scared for what the courage nerfs are gonna do to him.

his winrate is low because hes based around global pressure just like taliah ryze and gnar that depend on making team fight plays with teleport or ults.

Yea I know, but in Solo Q that doesn't add up to anything since there's such a lack of coordination. It's also a shame that Twisted Fate has a decent win rate of 51% while relying on the same niche of global pressure.

I think if they gave his ult a higher cooldown, but gave him some stats elsewhere so he'd be actually competitive top lane, he'd be fine. His stats need to be balanced similarly to Jayce or Nidalee, since he effectively doesn't have an ultimate for top lane skirmishes.

Well TF is secretly broken for soloQ but somehow barely anyone picks him up. If you have some map awareness and aren't braindead he can easily carry you to plat or dia

I personally despise shen. I hate when I feel like I'm doing well to be slapped in the face by a 800 point shield on a 100 health enemy that I used everything to kill only to be taunted and murdered in seconds. I hate his q doing ridiculous amounts of damage. Shens one of those champions that will be overly oppressive the moment he receives any kind of buff.

You don't negate his taunt or his ability to block autos or his giant AS FUCK shield that stops all of my damage.

I wasn't comparing him to other laners. I didn't say other laners weren't problems or that shen was better than them. I simply said a jungle shane eing into me and autoing me three times before i could retaliate doing half my 2/3 of my health in damage is in fact ridiculous

And you get faster attack speed! Just as well, I take grasp and spirit visage is in my core build, so I'll not only proc a passive shield, but also heal from grasp at an increased rate! If you pop the W, you should outrade and you can safely back up until your spells are up again.

Fix his Q.

I can't look at it when it's just dragging itself along Shen across the map like an anchor than a spirit blade or whatever, which is just stupid to watch and completely un-intuitive to use. Not to mention it actually takes a significant amount of time to recall it before the AA mod is proc'ed which is just absurd, why such a delay, especially when it basically is still at base when you've already arrived at the fist tower? Are we supposed to spam Q along the way to make sure it's always at our side?

Just fix it, Shen's current Q is just wrong.

Trust me, my man. Shen is strong =) I main him, so a little bias. However, that being said, in solo queue I've still been beatin up the boys in d3 with it. The only trouble I have is against darius :P

Yeah well in Diamond people know how to work as a team, try playing Shen in Silver. Even if you do well, your mid and bot will go negative into double digits. You could land a 5 man taunt and noone will follow up. That's why Shen feels weak.

They removed his sustain, as small as it was, it was critical to his survival. Right now he's a weird 'burst tank', but not in the traditional sense. He throws out all his skills in quick succession and... prays? He's got no tricks afterwards beyond AA and he suffers for it.
