I know AP Rek'Sai was a joke but...

It is seriously strong. Even without building AD her unburrowed Q and E do considerable amounts of damage, and then at full build, you have her burrowed Q doing 1000+ damage on a 4-5 second cool down. It's really fun, but I think if more people start playing and using this, it might overshadow the normal bruiser Rek'Sai.

Don't worry, Riot will nerf it to a 0.2 ratio (but compensate by buffing the vision duration 0.25 seconds!) because interesting builds are not allowed in LoL. You will play champions the way Riot wants or not at all.

You are saying you know its a joke but claim it is viable.

I have a problem with you specifically. Stop sending double signals, I have no idea what it is that goes through your mind.

You are either in favor or against, stop trying to sound neutral, god.

It's useless crap, why they even gave her an AP ability I dunno.

I think AP Rek'Sai is more of a high risk build; you really, really need items to be relevant. Her AP ratio on Q is really high, but the base damage is very low, thus you really have to sacrifice a lot as far as her build and the rest of her potential to get her to the point where she's doing that sort of damage. Sort of to put it in perspective; Rek'Sai with 6 items is doing about the same damage as Nidalee with 3/3.5. It's still good, don't get me wrong, and Rek'Sai has some advantages over Nidalee like her Q not costing mana, being AoE (not huge, sort of like Corki rockets), and being a faster skillshot thus harder to dodge, but the fact that Rek'Sai loses a lot of her potential from just not being tanky enough is a pretty big downside. It's great for sieging and can be useful if you have other teammates tanking and you can just sit back, kite around, and just poke people down, but if you're playing jungler you're more likely going to need to be doing more to peel for your actual APC to do damage.

I still think it's fun and fairly powerful and I'll probably still be playing it occasionally, but it's not something I'd bring into ranked.

It suckz

It's terrible because if any halfway decent team engages on that team then she has almost no damage. Played against it many times now and bruiser Rek'sai is WAY better.

It's extremely fun to play AP Rek'Sai, but I don't think she'll ever be viable that way outside of bronze + silver. She has great mobility and a long range nuke, but unless she chases you for ~15+ seconds she doesn't really have any kill potential outside of sniping a low health enemy who sticks around.

And no, her Q + E do really crappy damage as AP Rek'Sai, and should never be used outside of laning phase. You get rid of the main advantage AP Rek has (extreme range + mobility to escape and use that range) to put her in melee range as a squishy AP.

Honestly as the game goes on AP Rek'Sai becomes less and less useful. She doesn't contribute to Teamfights much and because of how fast big fights are, she can usually only get off around 3 Qs. She does have a pretty crazy mid game if you picked up enough kills. It's a gimmick build honestly. It throws away the use of her un-burrowed Q and E and puts full focus in the burrowed Q for poke and the Tunnel for escape.
