Either way, there used to be no sandbox mode and now there is.

I just mute ping all but still is annoying getting pinged on the screen

Less than daily reminder that League is a team game, so some form of communication must be available. There is no realistic system where Pings could be muteable, that wouldn't lead to negative results.

If a player is just constantly spam pinging, they aren't using it for anything useful anyways.

I'd rather outright ignore them so I can focus on the other members of my team.

I'm not talking about cases were pings are used incorrectly. I'm referring to the cases of people muting pings they disagree with, people muting everyone, a four muting the remaining player, etc.

You're right in that this is a team game; however, in solo queue - there's bound to be a game or two (or even more) in which even one specific teammate will go out of their way to spam ping another's mistake and can even go to the point of even harassing the player non-verbally by doing this.

/Mute all already exists to filter out the chat from unneeded flame or for those players who would rather focus on their gameplay as opposed to hear banter that more than likely to help less than useful/smart pings. However, as others have mentioned - a way to mute pings from specific players within a game can help deal with those that abuse the system as opposed to using pings correctly to help support the team game.

Are ping spams game-breaking? Not necessarily for all; however, it's a quality of life change that can help those affected by such situations.

You can already mute pings when you get in game if that helps- I have mine down to zero because I'm sick of people spamming them.

I realize they're important for communication, but until immature jerks stop spamming ??? after missing a skillshot, I'm going to keep it that way. And you can't tell me 'a majority of players use it for communication!' because obviously enough people have abused it that I set the volume to zero.

They do three things in this

1-Format, every single time you use a daily XXX it looks like an upvote farm/circlejerk and is less likely to actually be acknowledged.

Just mute all pings. Thats the best we can do with what we have in the options.

Its annoying as fk the sound.... i muted it years ago.

A would venture to say a majority of players use the pings for the purpose they were designed for and it would be detrimental to those people if you muted them and didn't realize the kassadin was roaming or there's a jungler behind you because you can't see their pings.
