Tankko Nerfs

So we know Tankko isn't dead, so we need another solution than just slowly reducing numbers and boosting AP ratios. If we keep doing that, eventually he'll have a lot of utility, literally no base damages, then suddenly someone will build some AP and one shot everyone.

I suspect that if riot were to nerf his passive, reducing the slow and movespeed buff, then he wouldn't be as slippery. The problem with that is that would hurt squishy builds more than tanky because squishy needs the slipperyness to not die.

That's the problem that Riot's playing with. How to ruin tank ekko without breaking AP ekko for good or bad.

Honestly, I think a nerf to his utility is the only way. Tank ekko has enough CC to be an initiation tank for his team. When you can do that, you don't need damage. If they nerf his ability's CC, that'll force him out of tankko because he doesn't do enough of anything to work anymore.

Having a 2.25 second stun at 1 point, making it such an amazing one point wonder, is I think a good place to start. Assuming Riot wants a stun of that duration, let's reduce it and make it scale with skill level.

1.85/1.95/2.05/2.15/2.25 second stun would be a decent hit without being overwhelming.

This level of nerf would not destroy his utility and AP ekko can still get his 3 hits passive proc during this time, but it's a huge difference for a tank that needs a while of free time to kill a target.

If we also need to nerf some of his other utilty lying around, that'd be great.

Maybe even remove his W execute base, making it so that he NEEDS some AP for it to do anything.

Nerf his stun duration, amount of time you have to activate the stun, nerf passive movement speed and slow by a little bit, buff his base damage to compensate.

The balance change I think that would truly balance him would be to nerf his passive reset to 15 seconds in champions. Right now he can all in you permaslowing you, perma being faster. If they ever want to make ekko a oneshot assassin there is no point in giving him a second chance to go for a target that only promotes playing the tank build.

Ekko is designed not to be a one-shot assassin, but an in-and-out, high damage light fighter type. Having the low CD on his passive is essential for that. However, because of all the CC it provides, I'd say either bump up the CD on champ to about 6 seconds, or make his passive slow a lot weaker.
