Fiddle W suggestion

Bârd··72 votes·1,958 views

Instead of having it cost 80/90/100/110/120 mana per cast, have it cost 16/18/20/22/24 mana per second of draining.

The cost of the spell when used fully would be unchanged, but it would make it much less punishing to on small creeps while clearing the jungle in conjunction with semi-reset added in 7.6, as well as lowering his costs in a teamfight, when he would have to cancel his drain frequently to keep up with his victims.

Fiddle isnt even one of the more annoying champions. His fear is kind of annoying but thats it tbh. besides i guess his ult.

An Undead brat4 votes

Isn't he? Two targeted CCs are not annoying?

And you literally said: "He's not annoying except his E and I guess R - that's half of his kit.

UnboundHades2 votes

he has a fear and a silence thats random

An Undead brat4 votes

Random? Random like dependent on if he clicks you or not?

I know what you mean, but if he targets you, it's targeted. Random it is only if it bounces through the wave and that itself is annoying too.

AwesomeGuyDj2 votes

A 1.25 second silence. So scary. I didnt even mean the E. I forgot his Fear was on Q. So i meant Q and R. The silence is fine. His r isnt even annoying, note how i said "i guess".

An Undead brat2 votes

1.25 seconds is a length of a teamfight, Twitch can pop out of stealth and wreck the whole team in 0.5 s, Brand can burst the whole team with his combo in 0.75 s. 1.25 seconds is more than enough for you to get screwed easily.

SoryInAdvance1 votes

lol no its definitely not a length of a teamfight..the length of a 100-0 assassination, maybe, a teamfight though? not even close.

An Undead brat1 votes

Not even close? Maybe two years ago, I'm not happy about that either.

SoryInAdvance1 votes

No, an entire teamfight does not go down in 1 second. Literally the only time that can happen is if twitch gets 5 man ult shots and e's and gets a penta... and even then thats probably longer than a second.

SweedishGunner2 votes

People love to clamour for Fiddle buffs but in my opinion he's super unhealthy whenever he's strong.

He needs a full VGU someday.

An Undead brat2 votes

Right? Definitely not missing him on the Rift.

Some old champion designs are fine and have overall held up over the years with some minor changes while some have not.

Fiddles' has not. The game has changed drastically enough since his creation that his kit just feels out of place in League now. Fiddlestick's kit once fit in just fine with League, but now the gameplay focus of the game has shifted since then and Fiddles just doesn't work well within that new scope. He's like a poorly-made DotA character imported into a game that doesn't play much like DotA anymore.

BIue Monk1 votes

Tbh, Fiddlesticks kit is not that "out", the champ just needs to be hard buffed. The main issue is that as a jungle, you'll be outperformed by any engage champ like Zac, Amumu, Gragas, Hecarim, Jarvan, Rammus, and so on. These champs will deal as much damage and control as long as Fiddle, but they are very tanky, they doesnt need to hide to cast an interruptible ult with an infinite cd, and doesnt instantly die when caught... The Fiddlestick tradeoff is that you are squishy as fuck, so your ult is supposed to do engage+damage if you land it, but you have very low utility after, and you die quickly after it. Currently, it's only an engage with very low damage, so why pick Fiddle ? Just pick anything else, it's better.

Meep Man2 votes

If you find Fiddle R annoying, you probably find every initiation ultimate annoying.

An Undead brat1 votes

Yea, no. You know why? Because 1.) I play ARAMs and people who play ARAMs know what facing Fiddle with a Snowball means, but mostly 2.) every initiation ultimate warns you first, be it Sion and Kled type or Nautilus and Leona type. Those are ultimates I actually like to face.

BIue Monk1 votes

A TWO second interruptible cast should be an enough warn... You have two seconds to interrupt, or just run back. And by the way, almost everything counters Fiddle extremely hard in the game : Wards, QSS, Crucible, Cleanse, Janna ult, AOE shield, Tristana ult, Lee Sin ult, Exhaust, Interrupts (silence, stun, etc.), etc, etc, etc There is a million way to counterplay Fiddlesticks, as picks, as items, as strategy.

Also, the spell need to have a flat heal number, 45/70/95/120/140 + 30% AP heal per second

So, even if you don't do damage (300MR target), you heal the same amount.

Sozan53 votes

Sorry, but that's a bad suggestion.

There's a reason why most drain effects (Lifesteal, Spellvamp, Omnivamp and many of the champion abilities (like Vlad)) are calculated off the damage dealt rather than raw damage. It's to stop tanks and the like to be just health potions for champions with those abilities/stats.

Hmm you mean like the flat healing from vlad ? No more spell vamp for him since mage update. And they removed spell vamp cause it was clunky, clunky spellvamp, fiddlestick, doesn't ring a bell ?

Aatrox/Xin zhao are flat healing as well, WW passive is flat healing, lot of things are flat healing, and especially spell based healing, Swain is flat healing. Most of the "Drain effects" in champion kit is nowadays flat healing.

A mage mid who build just a Banshee veil reduces heavily fiddlestick healing while still blowing up fiddlestick Health in one combo. I mean it's quite an Okay-ish counter, but it feels clunky when without cancelling drain and just trading blow you get outperformed cause you heal like 50 health second.

Sozan51 votes

Huh, you are correct. Vlad no longer heals from damage dealt.

I still think it's a bad idea for fiddle (and Vlad as well, honestly) to just have a tank battery on hand. Especially Fiddle, as his chanelled drain would be abusive against tanks while making him unable to actually fight squishies (unless it was overtuned). Currently, when fighting tanks his drain is weakened, but at the same time tanks don't deal all that much damage and fighting squishies makes him heal faster. So, the only bad choice for Fiddle is to drain a tank when a carry is hitting him (and honestly, that should be punished - that's what tanks are for).

Well, that's what defensive stats are supposed to do. You can always build Banshee yourself and then you will outtrade them.

Anyway, I agree that Fiddle is clunky and needs some changes - but at the same time, I don't think that's the change he needs (I'd probably change his E. Dunno if it's just me, but I really hate using that ability - feels very unreliable).

DarkVladimr3 votes

Or maybe make it so he does not need to stay perfectly still for itto deal dmg?

Bârd1 votes

That would be cool, but probably way too strong.

DarkVladimr1 votes

Not if they make it a skillshot. :D

The only problem I see with this is Supp fiddle being too oppressive early, not having to spend much mana to top up his health bar while still being able to poke out other supports.

You could balance it with X mana to cast plus Y mana per second.

BIue Monk2 votes

Lol, do you even skill the drain as Fiddle sup ? I don't think so.

SociopathFriend7 votes

Hell yes you do. The enemy jumps you and suddenly you are no threat whatsoever when they position so your crow doesn't bounce and you only feared one of them. Once the fear ends you're a glorified caster minion for 10 seconds without your drain. It's not like you're any other support where you can freely use your ultimate in battle.

DeusVult1 votes

its also useful if they land poke on you, you drain a melee minion and get some health back

SociopathFriend2 votes

While true, this requires them to not punish you for it, which they easily can do. If they don't bother to punish you while draining then you're probably well on your way to victory anyways.

Support fiddle takes a single point into drain and maxes Q and E. His w won't do shit regardless.

KoKoboto2 votes

You'd still spend as much mana if you drain for that long...

Seenan2 votes

Then he gets no punishment if someone stuns him instantly.

BIue Monk8 votes

Lol, no punishment ? Having your drain interrupted is mostly a death as Fiddle... Actually, most of the time, you won't get interrupted and you'll still die in a fraction of a second... Well, that's what happen in Platinum.

Bârd6 votes

The CD? The lost damage? The lost healing?

Meep Man4 votes

Having to use W on an enemy champion is risky enough.

Emerald Fang2 votes

I don't agree with this; makes him too powerful. High mana cost means you have to be smart about using it rather than just spamming it whenever. Although something like 40/50/60/70/80 + 10 mana per second could work.

korg0232 votes

Just make it refund half of mana when it kills target or something , it will improve his jungling and also make laning viable. Or add slow to it so it doesent feel like targets are escaping to fast.

Kingdom Corn1 votes

as much as I hate to say it, this is a needed change. (I hate saying it because I hate playing against 5 million years of cc)

Meep Man1 votes

Wait, then wouldn't you love to say it?

AR URF1 votes

idk why people even care to play such a boring champion. I never understood league though with Fiddlesticks mains. They're out there, just not as common.

Bârd6 votes

Fiddle is a champion all about causing fear, and not just the disable.

You need to outsmart the enemy by controlling vision around the map to keep your position unknown, at which point he jumps out of the shadows with no warning to annihilate the enemy team.

He's a tactical champion, not a mechanical one.

AR URF1 votes
  1. I mean let's take his basic kit into account. In teamfighting he'll most likely hide in a nearby bush and ult in and press zhonya. He'll do the same in a normal situation as that is his only engage really. He can come in, fear throw his crow and w after, or come in fear, w, throw his crow. The reason why I find him boring is because of how basic he is. I find most basic champions to be boring. Take Veigar for example. press e and hope you land your stun. If your stun lands, w, q, r. It's like been there done that. Now take Katarina. You can do so many advanced tips and tricks with her. I love it. Or take Vayne as well. Yes landing a condemn is a basic concept, but the direction on which you must go after you ult and land a condemn and if you do just feels so good and makes things fun.
ninjaroxas4 votes

even if what you do with kat is fancy its really just the same thing every time, pretty boring to me

AR URF2 votes

Oh well to each his own.

Siegfriedx11 votes

I feel that fiddle should be able to use his W on all champion he land his crow at once on a certain area.
