What makes Udyr strong?

I've wanted to know the answer to this question for a good time now, since IMO, Udyr's gameplay pattern is near 100% predictable and he doesn't have a late game power spike like other champions. Any good answers?

Depends on the udyr:

The three main ways I see him played are -

Tank: Builds little damge, but is great at running you down, and has the the necessary stats to ignore both kiting and burst. DPS: Builds damage and Triforce, and is very difficult to escape: usually will just destory your adc, unless you are working hard to protect them - which in turn makes it very difficult to stop his split pushing. Objective: Literally just solos dragon/baron/couter jungles/split pushes all game. Due to his speed he is very hard to catch, and can usually 1v1 you - so to stop him, you need about 3 people, with good cc, leaving your team 2 people to protect the other two lanes against 4 people - and you may still not catch the udyr, and he may still get the tower.

i think he is pretty bad. he has abusive low level strength and mobility though.

i think what makes him so strong is his tiger form that extra dmg and basically ignite on his tiger form just do so much and in the jungle his ult clears so fast. Udyr is just op.

Tiger form is very OP at level 1.

... He's strong? He's good early game by really only excels at taking jungle objectives early and alone. Other then that he is kind of unexceptional.

His ability to stun your entire team one after another, wait 5 seconds, and do it again.

Add great scaling with triforce and botrk, and amazing potential as a tank, and you get someone who excels at going pure damage, tank, or a bruiser.

He's a stupid champion when played right, absolutely useless when played wrong.
