RITO WTF WENT 9/1 PLACEMENTS

And I got S3. I finished G5 last season, so it wasn't anything all that bad, tbh. Even if I got Bronze, the amount of games that I've had has been so ridiculously easy, that it wouldn't even have mattered. I know this is hypocritical -- but stop. If you placed lower than you did last season, it's SUPPOSE to happen. Stop bitching. No, it isn't your team's fault you're gutter trash, it's your fault. The amount of cringe I've seen in some of these games playing with Bronze people again was so ridiculously bad that I had to drop playing ADC in order to carry my placement games.

I don't mean to be so blunt, but some times you gotta hear the truth instead of all the sugar coated nonsense nice people like to throw around.

I know...no matter what game it is, placements of a new season always place you lower then where you ended up last season.

Everyone's placed lower than their previous rank so you can start climbing up again. It's like all the challengers/masters gotta start back at diamonds and work their way up.

Do they intentionally force everybody to place lower then their previous ratings so that they can climb back up? That sounds really stupid, why should they have to put some time into achieving what they accomplished before? I don't know much about the ranked ladder.

My bet is so people can start getting up there again by putting in time & efforts. I've always thought from seasons ago that ranked refresh every season and everyone would start from Bronze 5 (lol) and get up from there so I guess I'm not too shocked to see my rank at a lower level.

YES, this is exactly what they do.

The idea is things change every season, so when a new season begins they do a soft reset and place people lower (Sometimes much lower) than they were last season. If you've adapted well to the new changes, you should climb back up, and those that don't adapt won't have as easy of a time.

Also if you were ranked last season, your placements do not matter nearly as much as you think.

Yeah, but if you start where you left off and you're static, you tend to get more discouraged. At least when you start lower, you get to feel that satisfaction of moving back up the ladder and not struggling in a single division.

yes becuase elo boosting is a huge issue which screws up highe rtiers from climbing... how would you feel if you were say plat 5 and had some oen who was bronze 5 in your game becuase they elo boosted?

Not even Diamond. They start at Plat 1.

I went 3-7 and got placed in plat 2.

Not a big deal.

Yea, I don't get why some people are complaining about their placements putting them so low. I was D5 and got put P2. Literally one rank lower than where all of the challengers are being placed. And guess what? I went 4-6. The system is based solely on how your mmr was and how your mmr changes from the placements. Then they add 1200 and divide by 2 and badaboom, you have your new mmr.
