So why is Heim not used in competitive play?

He has really good sieging capability and is godly at committing objectives. Rockets auto process thunderlords. Much more DPS than many mid laners, pushes wave easily. He should be used more in poke compositions considering that he is kinda vulnerable to kiting.

In order for him to be used in competitive play, they need to fix the bug where he's listed as support.

he cant freeze lane, no real mobility after lane phase, no escape and can be easily countered.

Heimer is way too binary for competitive play. If someone picks heimer, you basically know he's going to drop turrets and stay in that spot. Heimer controls one spot on the map, but he only controls that spot. This is not a quality pro teams want in their team compositions.

I've seen UOL do it once. It was however just a counter to Jax's split pushing. But yeah he is a terrible roamer. Yet he is one of the very few AP champions that can splitpush extremely well

very easy to play around his turrets with an organized team

But he practically forces baron fights and dragon control where the enemy team either tries to sneak in a smite (which is risky) or fight around his turrets.
