Okay, fine, Riot. Take your TT away. But we need something in its place.

With the loss of TT we no longer have a mode you can play with just a couple friends without filling in randoms. I accept that TT had its flaws, even if you deliberately set it up for failure with your inaction when it came to addressing its needs (And things like not allowing event passes to earn tokens on TT certainly didn't help player counts). But there is now a void in its placee- This game needs a small group mode. I expect that you will put up some experimental thing to fill this role. I will uninstall if this void is left unfilled. I'll give you that TT had some problems. But if your solution to that is to remove it rather than fix it, then you need to develop something better to fill the purpose that it served for so many years. And I'm not talking about some off the wall thing like TFT which really plays like an entirely seperate game. I'm talking about something that resembles standard league that you can play with fewer players.

The sad part is those "low player numbers" you're citing are still far better than the player numbers for tons of online multiplayer games that still exist and run today. Those games don't seem to have trouble operating with the handful of players who love them, so I really don't buy the excuses you gave.

At least I can be proud to have the only ranked reward specifically exclusive to ranked TT- the blue victorious graves chroma. There's also Victorious Orianna which I got as well but I didn't play all three queues (Technically none were specifically associated with TT but given there was a reward for gold in all three queues, I guess you could associate that with it...)

Honestly, the game mode selection even looks pretty empty without TT.

what about a 3v3v3? That could be interesting

They need to make ends meet somehow while designing their next prestige skin, you know. If it's not seeing millions of players daily it's not worth upkeep costs, as that money could be better spent on designing the next music video to advertise the next pop star skin line with prestige skins.

This has been a truth since Dominion was taken down. We all knew it was coming.

It's even worse for OCE cause we've eternally been stuck with Norms or ARAMs (outside of TFT) with access to TT ONLY on weekends prior to its removal. Riot's excuse is "the servers couldn't handle it", which is bogus.

Pretty much putting LoL on hiatus until a mode similar to TT/Ascension/Dominion comes back.

Reminder that the last region server that was denied TT as a game mode when asked for completely and utterly died in server/queue population.

Let's see what they could add They want URF as a temporary mode We have no updates for Nexus Blitz All other modes are "incompatible" with new client (what a Joke!) So...Either they will bring back the Rotating Gamemodes which will change every wheek (which would be the best choice they could make) or...idk

Twisted Treeline is what me and 5 other friends did exclusively for custom matches. Now we can't play together at all. Won't be spending anymore money on this game until they pull their head out of their asses.

I like original TT more and stopped playing it after the shadow isles changes, pretty sure a lot of players that only played with a few friends did and a few probably quit all together, but you know they needed people to work on the plan to dominate all forms of e-sports and since TT didn't have enough players to net a few million more dollars a year it just wasn't worth bothering with.

Nothing can replace the music and the atmosphere of that mode. And nothing can replace Vilemaw. I am sorry to tell you this but it’s true.

Really, really sad to see this game mode go away. Not only did I play ranked more on this game than the standard, but me and a small group of friends actually had lots of fun playing 2 v 2 custom games in this map. Tried the same on howling abyss yesterday and got bored af after the first game.

Riot, you really need to replace this with something similar, and just as OP said, not a different game mode, something that feels like summoners rift on a smaller map with a faster pace.

I hate playing custom games on ARAM because you only have one lane, no ganks or surprises opportunity, and the no recall setting forces you to die in order to buy stuff which i find really bad.

gragaaaas11/20/2019, 12:00:44 PM2 votes

I agree. But nothing will happen. Riot only seems to understand how to support Summoners Rift. And now the RNG crapfest that is TFT. ARAM is sometimes fun but absolutely nowhere near the skill level of TT or SR, if you roll a crap team comp is a 10 minutes frustrating loss.

Basically I am so close, after ten years, of abandoning the game and moving on. Will anyone care? Nah. But Riot is literally doing everything they can to make the game more boring, less play modes, more RNG.

And for the records Riot posts over 1.5 BILLION DOLLARS profit annually.. Maybe over 2 billion now. They could have hyped/balanced/updated Twisted Treeline but neglected it to death instead.

I mean I am upset that I busted my butt to get Gold in 3v3 Ranked on TT.. hoping to get another chroma for the Victorious Skin.. instead Riot decided to just scrapped it cause its not popular as ARAM or TFT..

  1. Not Many Players compared to Solo Q or 5v5 Ranked Flex Play TT
  2. Bots kill the Game Mode, now invading ARAM as we speak
  3. Not a Fan of TT, but when playing it in Season 8 and 9.. it looks like Riot never cared to take care of the Game Mode
  4. There isn't anything Competitive or Pro Scene for TT, justs means you achieved a Rank in Game Mode that doesn't matter
  5. Removing TT, the Rewards are disgraceful
  6. Feels like Dominion all over again.. God i miss that Game Mode.

I hope everyone Season 9 was Great, had fun and Reach their Desired Rank!

Bring back dominon

Kairoptra11/20/2019, 7:33:43 PM2 votes

Well, if we’re being completely honest, Riot doesn’t need to fill its place at all. Regardless of whose fault it was, barely anybody played it. The losses suffered by Riot will be minimal at best, and the vast majority of the playerbase will go on like nothing happened. When you have game modes as successful as SR and TFT, modes like TT become dead weight.

I’m not saying it’s right to just up and delete it (far from it), but League is not known for TT. Its reputation does not ride on it. What happens normally is that people see it when they first sign up, play a few games, and then go back to SR. It’s sad, but TT just isn’t important in the grand scheme of League. I can’t imagine what you, as a TT fan, must be going through, but it’s the truth.

Would it be nice to have something like TT? Yes, absolutely, 100%, I totally agree with you.

Does League need to have such a mode? Unfortunately, no.

Yordle Gunner11/21/2019, 3:36:27 AM2 votes

A fast game mode to quickly have with friends. Sure would be nice if Riot made something like that and didn't drop it before it made it out of beta. No way they could screw up a good idea like that.

NEXUS BLITZ PLSSSSSSSSSS

with every item from the games past the ultimate gamemode clown fiesta

I kind of wish they would bring Nexus Blitz back to the game but as a perma mode. I had a ton of fun there with friends.
