Frost Queen's Claim

So after reading Riot's thought process on Frost Queen's Claim, I think they are heading in the right direction with it. Something still needs to be done about the active, but I have a different thought about how to get the item out of the mid lane and back on the supports where it should be (not that supports aren't getting it, but I want a way to stop mid laners from getting it).

My idea is to have the item get a 7 second debuff that disables ALL the passives (both the stacks and the passive gold regeneration) when a minion is killed. But it does that already right? I want to see this debuff stack for each minion killed. So if you kill a whole wave in two spells, you have put your spell thiefs passives on a 42 second cool down; enough time for the next wave to arrive and for you to begin killing minions again.

With a change like this, spell thiefs will return to the bot lane because there is practically no incentive to pick up the item if you are going to be killing minions.

Personally, I would be really sad in either position if the Tribute passive got hit. It tells supports to stay support, and limit options for the team as a whole. (e.x. A damage oriented support, could supplement AP damage in an otherwise All AD lineup. That kind of diversity would get shafted.)

Also, Riot said they have no problem with FQC in the mid lane as long as it doesn't crowd out other items. So they have no reason to Hard wire that item as a support item. But they should balance between the other Mana items. And those items suck right now.

It's also a little strong as a support item generally. Theirs no reason to take Eye of the watchers over FQC. and that is pretty much all on the active itself. They should probably make it a balanced support item first, and then reevaluate it's position mid.

My idea behind the stacking debuff is that it would punish champions that buy the item and then farm with it; as in it creates a tradeoff between farming with the item vs actually using it for its gold income.

Currently (even with 6.1) mid laners can clear waves quickly, wait the 8 seconds, and then harass with increased damage and receive gold, and all the while gain the gold per 10. Basically, there is no trade off for taking this item mid because its gold generation is not tied to the minion wave, like the other two items are.

This change wouldn't take ap supports out of viability (at least I hope not, that isn't the goal) but its to make sure that a champion that is getting a gold generation item isn't also farming waves.

AP really isn't the issue I'm bringing up. The example I gave, kinda requires the Support to Slingshot into an APC.

But in the past, this was never an issue with Mid laners because they had better options. If Mid wanted extra gold, That's actually fine, because they sacrificed combat stats for that. But recently, that isn't the case. Because AGAIN, Mana itemization sucks.
