Remember how people were saying Ahri's new changes were a nerf?

Well I guess no one expected her to currently be an absolutely dominating force in the meta, boasting a consistent 54%+ win rate each day. And before the 5.3 nerfs to her, I saw a lot of threads saying she was too strong with the changes.

So many people are saying that Veigar's new changes on the PBE are a straight up nerf to him.

People see the delay on his stun and the decreased ratio on his ult and they all lose their minds.

What they don't see is the potential power he now has, with his Q now giving him 2 AP if you farm right.

Give new Veigar a chance once he hits live. We won't know for sure if he's weaker until he sees live play.

I don't remember that, no.

I remember newer players thinking that this was a rework, though. (It's a revert of a shitty nerf that ruins characters, fyi. RIP Fizz)

The 5.2 changes? no one was saying that was a nerf if they actaully read it.

Now 5.3 was a all around nerf.

Ahri is too popular a character amongst League fans for her to ever be underpowered. If she is, expect Riot to buff her quickly.

Urgot on the other hand...

There is not that many Veigar at mid to begin with since he is already so squishy, and die to most assasins. He is hard to play not on a mechaical reflex kind of sense, but in his positioning and awareness.

So this changes apparently is aimed more toward sup veigar who can have a aoe stun on low cd who is causing trouble oversea in Asia. And sup Veigar do not care about gaining ap on Q, so no matter what this is a nerf. How is this going to affect the small group of people that play mid Veigar, that we are not sure.

If you think about it, having delay on a edge stun skill like Event Horizon is huge. It becomes more like a cage for trapping/area control than stunning. Look at Cho'gath Rupture, it has a 0.625 delay the whole area pop people up. And its still not that easy to hit in mid game when champions have their boots. Before the change its an almost guarantee instant stun. Now its a area control/conditional stun.

There is no sugar coating it, its mostly a nerf. Does Veigar deserve it? Maybe yes, maybe not. On the one hand he is squishy as hell with no mobility and mediocre range. But on the other hand its really frustrating when he stun 3-5 people in a team fight twice and you just watch your entire team dies. (Not to mention the actual mid veigar that 100-0 you as soon as u get clip by that stun)

i dunt think the comparisons right people looked at ahri's numbers, some were good... some were bad... but they all underestimated her new found mobility

people looked at veigar's numbers, some were good... most were bad... and they have already concluded the double stack to be pretty fking pointless cuz getting twice the ap from 1 Q, is not the same as though the minion wave doubled in size end result is still gonna be the same amount of ap

Still, that 'potential power' is something you can use once in a blue moon.

Go, start a custom game with Lux. Try farming with your Q and count how many times it killed 2 minions.

Extra range might be good for poke tho, but it won't make a difference when you are going for the kill since you have to get close to use your ult.

And his stun... I'll be honest, I think it's a broken skill by itself. But Veig needs it in order not to be a clay pigeon for jungles and to be able to land his W.
