Do ranked placements go on win/loss or how you performed in the game?

Hello, so I've done 4 placement matches so far and I've done pretty well in them. However, I have lost all of them has in each one we had at least one AFK, then bot or top fed hard. So do placements really go off of wins/loss or in game performance (Such as warding, cs, kda, etc). Thanks in advanced!

It actually goes further than that. I will explain but it is based on win loss not performance. If these are your first placements they will place you against good players and with each win your opponent gets harder and with each loss they get easier.

The amount of difficulty that is increased is not much because you can only go up so much from provisionals but the amount you drop from a loss is very extreme. Your first 3 games almost always determine your placement as if you win these you're almost guarenteed at mid silver but if you lose those then you'll probably be bronze or low silver.

Your starting MMR has a lot to do with it as well but I can't explain that part to you. Good luck in the rest of your matches.

None of these responses are correct. Jeez...

It's your MMR and which is then combined with win/loss.

Yeah, it's completely your MMR that chooses where you'll be placed.

Wins and losses in your provisionals have a big impact on your MMR, so that's why they're so important.

It goes off both.

It is a combinations of your past invisible MMR, the grades you get in the post game, the outcome (win/loss), and the skill level of your opponents.

This season I placed in either Bronze II or Bronze I after going 6-4 in placements. Three of my losses I had afks as well. Had to climb through bronze and silver to get back to gold. Riot also typically places you about one full divisionsfrom where you placed the previous season as well.

Its your starting MMR which will change with each win or loss.

The game looks at whether you win or lose, and then increases or decreases your MMR based on how likely it thought you were to win that match and how certain it is of your current MMR value. The game doesn't look at your kda, damage dealt, vision score, or any other stats when determining your MMR and adjustments to it, even in placements.
