@Riot - Context on Fizz Changes

5/9 PBE Update: Pulsefire Caitlyn login theme and more!

I understand that this is supposed to be a nerf to dissuade people from playing Fizz, but he honestly doesn't need any compensatory buffs. Can someone at Riot please give some context on why Fizz is receiving the AP ratio buff on his W? Where do you think Fizz stands currently? (Note: It's pretty safe to say that AP Fizz is pretty broken at the moment. Just throwing that out there guys.)

Fizz Seastone Trident (W) AP ratio increased from 100% to 120% Damage changed from 25/40/55/70/85 to 20/30/40/50/60

Ap fizz is not anywhere near broken.

And he needs 375 ap to break even with the old base damage, its a complete nerf to ap fizz who isnt even good atm.

thats debateable, landing fish and 1 shotting someone instantly is what an assassin is supposed to do however without outplay during said combo, it is arguably broken

Midseason seems to have had a fairly negative effect on AP Fizz mid (Banshee's and all), and this change is targeted at killing Tank Fizz top so they're giving his AP builds some compensation.

Am I going crazy or something? I fully understand that Banshee's cockblocks Fizz in lane but I don't really think giving him more damage is a good remedy to the Banshee's Veil rush. I don't know, it just doesn't feel right.

This change isn't about Banshee's. It's about keeping AP Fizz relatively power-neutral while they nerf the heck out of Tank Fizz top.

if you read the numbers, its obviously an early game/laning phase nerf, but scales better with more AP, has nothing to do with dissuading people from playing him
