The Yorick Rework, what is known so far.

Hello all, seeings as how there has been quite alot of talk about the upcoming Ryze, Warwick, and Yorick reworks, I decided to try and inform everyone what is know about Yorick's upcoming rework, how he functions now, and etc.

For starters, Yorick is leagues only true minion mancer, his entire kit focuses on summoning and controlling minions, each with different effects. One gives healing, one slows, one gives him a movespeed boost, and another lets him revive an ally for a short period to enact revenge. Simple kit, nothing to complicated or straightforward.

But what is the issue with Yorick as of now? The part where he is also a ranged spammer for his abilities that are all point and click. You get in range, you are taking damage, no counterplay, no way to stop it. That is why he is so unfair to play against as of right now. Its not that his kit is broken, or bad, or overpowered, it is simply unfair.

This insured Yorick being in a permanerfed state (Always set to be weaker than most other champions in the game, base stats and all.) and also removed from free champion rotation so he gets less exposure.

So now with his potential rework finally landing, what are they actually going to do about him? From what we know, absolutely nothing. EXCEPT, that he is being reworked from the ground up on one single concept, being a minionmancer. That means new Visuals, Voiceover, abilities, everything. Even lore. (He will still be part of Pentakill, Which will have an updated splash.) I heard in a reply from a rioter that the reason this rework has been so long, is that the team had extreme difficulties with making his kit work, mostly because of the coding. Each minion he has, has to have its own unique set of codes, which means how it reacts to walls, allies, enemies, minions etc. ITs tough to do that for one champion, but for a champion and potentially 4 other counterparts to one? Difficult is not even close to describing it.

This issue is what made Ryze get ahead in the rework schedule, the Ryze team merely got done their work faster.
