Can you just play the game?

I'm tired of people surrendering so soon. Like I just had a game where my team tried to early surrender when down only 5 kills and 1 turret. I mean seriously? I was the only no vote in each of 3 surrender votes (third one succeeded because it was after the 20 min mark. Never more than a 10 kill difference. I understand surrendering completely unwinnable games, but c'mon, this is ranked.

On a somewhat related note, I'm still tired of these short games. The enemy rammus was tower diving as early as like level 3 or 4 and could tank like 7 or 8 turret shots easily at level 6. Can turrets actually offer some legitimate early game protection? Tired of feeling like if I don't gank each lane twice by 5 minutes in then the game is basically lost.
