How to fight the tank meta?

Hi all,

So I am here posting to ask about how do you fight the tank meta? I main mids, but got stuck top lane a lot lately due to many games of being last pick. All tank champs seem to be fotm and frequently land up against team comps with 3 tanks in it. My issue is I can build liandry or last whisper etc, but by time I have it the enemy tank gets about 7 mins of farming in first because they are hard to bully and difficult for people to gank. If they get too far ahead trying to take down 3 enemy tank can seem just impossible and becomes oppressive.

How is everyone else adapting their strategies to beat the tank menace?

Don't expect to nuke a tank, tho.

Above all else, protect the adc. Pick a champion with cc as well, to lock tanks down. Your job is to provide burst damage and/or assassinate squishies, but keep them from destroying yours. You aren't a support, but a team member.

Tanks force teamwork, from both sides. Don't try to do it all by yourself.

Addendum:

Try to also build items to enable your team to deal with tanks.

If you're for example Riven and you're faced with enemy tanks while not snowballing, build a item 3071 to soften them tanks up for your own damage dealers and use your CC to peel if necessary. Or, as a top laner, build one of the item 3105 items, as tanks usually deal a lot of magic damage. Or item 3001 / item 3091 if your main source of DPS is magical.

Become the tank Blade of the ruin king Vayne Vayne with blade of the ruin king and tankyness (idk just try and see it may work i never did it :D but it is all three in one haha)

Burst damage beats squishies, Sustained damage beats tanks. Sustained damage = AD carries & DPS damage dealers Sustained damage is possible only if you have at least a tank in team, and some form of peeling against enemy divers %health damage, true damage and resistances shredding helps too. Vayne KogMaw Malzahar Cassiopeia Azir Kalista item 3153 item 3151 and stuff

Did I say something wrong? When I try to bully tanks they just back off and regenerate or tower farm. By all means if you have a trick I could use the help.

They are extremely easy to bully early on. Bully them and freeze lane so you can zone.

They're supposed to be hard to bully, but many of them such as amumu and alistar are quite easy to abuse early on. Most of the easily bullied tank roles end up taking jungle as a result.

Something you can try as a last ditch effort if your team comp just simply can't win against their tank comp, try to out push them. Lot's of tanks lack quick waveclear and mobility, if you're a bunch of 1 click wave clearers and AD assassins you can try to just outpush them, force 5v4's and such while somebody is in base clearing minions and you might just be able to pull something out of nothing.

Course this is entirely situational and only works if the enemy team isn't coordinated enough to force push to Nexus. Advice everybody else gave is much more general and useful I figure. ... Except for maybe Tank Vayne. Not too sure on that one, heh. But hey, once you're ingame there's no changing champs after all. Just a bit of advice I figure I'd throw out into the air for when you're playing Kha versus 4 mundos and a shyv.
