Hey its a Caitlyn main here
Okay so im going to split this up into a few things, her strengths, her weaknesses, and how to abuse her.
Strengths
Caitlyn is an early game beast who can abuse the other laner very hard. She has great range, is very safe, and does nice damage. Her headshots, traps, and net are all tied together. Her headshot is basically an empowered, complicated crit that, well, scales off of crit and AD. Caitlyn stacks her Headshot every 6 stacks, and has a visual so youll know when she has 6 stacks. Her traps give her brush dominance and can be used to kite if the enemy doesnt move in time. her net isnt too special, though it procs her long ranged headshot like the traps. The traps are an EMPOWERED headshot, so you dont wanna step on those unless shes gone. Her Piltover Peacemaker isnt too special, its telegraphed, does a nice chunk of damage if it hits you directly, and is great poke. Her ultimate is the classic execute move. It doesnt do a lot of damage but it can still get you easy. She also has amazing sieging, so she can take down turrets hard.
Weaknesses
Caitlyn does not handle all ins well. Once shes wasted her escapes, shes gone. She doesnt have much survivability overall other than her escapes, thats it. THink of her like Aurelion, he has his range and can push you back to it, after that you can all in him ez. One thing you should know is, CAITLYN FALLS OFF AFTER THE EARLY GAME. Shes very bad mid game if she isnt fed, and her late game isnt as good as most ADCs. So play passive if you wish, going 0/0/0 for her might as well be like a 0/4/0 on a better scaling ADC. Her Q is telegraphed and does less damage behind minions, her traps can easily be seen and avoided AND have a set up time so she cant just plant them under you. The brush is hers if its unwarded, dont face check it. Her E is kinda short range, so youd have to be attacking her for her to use it. Her R is useless if youre not low health. It also can be blocked by a teammate, REMEMBER THAT. After the early game if she doesnt get enough kills, youll have a way easier time. Once shes wasted her traps, her sieging isnt to great and all she can do it hit the turret and hope you dont hit her.
How to abuse her
Heres what you want! Caitlyn doesnt handle ganks well if shes used up her net. Ask for a gank, and before the jg gets there waste her net, its cd is high, after that just wait for your jg. Heres something you wont like, and you dont need to but it hurts her ALOT, Her going 0/0/0 in mid game makes her pretty useless in fights. She relies on you to feed her, dont do it. Also, a good Caitlyn will be trying to splitpush mid game, watch out for it. Caitlyn also doesnt handle being locked down well, if she gets rooted or stunned she can be killed pretty quick. You can see when she has headshot stacked, STAY BACK WHEN SHE HAS IT, IT HURTS. Her damage falls off somewhere past lvl 6/8 ish if shes not ahead, so the headshot wont hurt as much. Late game you can probably out-duel her. just avoid her net and traps and her kit is bad compared to yours. And as always, get your team to focus her in fights if shes fed, and have 1 or 2 people focusing her anyway. She also doesnt handle gap closers well, so waste her net, gap close, ez kill.
Im obviously probably missing some things, but i hope i helped! I used to one trick Caitlyn at one point, i dont play her as extremely now, but shes still my main. I have 153,070 Mastery Points on her as of now.
. The problem I have with her is the champs that can gap close. If they do so and dodge my net, then im pretty screwed. They have to dodge the net though.
