You know what I really fucking hate about promotions?

The fact that it matters HOW you lose them. See, if you lose the promos Lose - Win - Lose that's the ideal way to lose them. Why? Because LP still counts while in promos. Well, if you win on 100 lp you get nothing though.

Which means that Win - Lose - Lose is worse than Lose - Win - Lose which is very odd. If you win - lose - lose you have to win 2 in a row to get back into promos. You only have to win 1 if you do it the other way.

I find this very strange and I hate the fact that if I win - lose - lose, my first win is literally nothing.

This is why I dodge the next game after losing a single game in a best-of-3 promo.

It saves me a game worth of MMR and LP, and I can immediately re-do the promo, because on the very next match I suddenly get people who can at the very least tie their shoelaces.

Idk man even if i go 0-2 in promos i only need to win 1 game to get back

This post is just a straight up lie. It does count your LP, it's just hidden. if you go Win-Loss-Loss, you'll get put at around 80 LP, or 1 win away again.

it always baffles me how little people understand how MMR in this game works. Stop worrying about one single game and look at the big picture. I will tank myself to -30 LP with dodges if i have to and keep pulling shitty teams. It doesn't matter at all, the next win just gives me +24 or some insane number.

The system will always attempt to slowly normalize your gains.

Yeah, I can agree with this. I really feel like it should just subtract a flat 50 LP when you lose promos, rather than subtracting for every loss and adding back for every win.

With how many people have been downvoting my comment, I feel the need to explain why 50 LP. 50 LP is dead-center in the rating, and that's more than fair for it to put you back to. It's also 2-3 wins for me to get back into promos. I was also originally thinking to have it completely reset you back down to 0 LP with demote protection, as id you had just gotten into the rating in the first place. If you lose your promos, it's because you couldn't carry, and I personally think that you should be punished far more severely for this than you currently are.

I'm pretty sure your statement is false. It does count over 100 LP but just doesn't show it. I've had promos like Win+Win+Lose+Lose = 100 LP The maximun LP you can have after lost promos is 90 though, I think.

It's no secret that the Ranked System makes it much easier to drop than it is to climb. Demotion vs. promotion series (there's no formal demotion series system so you don't actually know how close to getting demoted you are). Losing promos and having to win multiple games to get back into them. Hard-carrying your team for 40 minutes only for Riot's matchmaking to place you with a team of morons who throw the next game within the first 5 minutes.

You should get LP for win in the next Division

Vaandir3/7/2017, 9:43:38 AM1 votes

They should just remove Promo games like they did in SMITE , the problem lies in the mmaking every time you are on a winning streak and get into promos you get teammates on loosing streaks that are just playing horrificly bad.

This shouldnt be the case imo , the game should try to find players that are in promos as well and have team up and play against each other.

This doesnt really help anyone if you get paired with people that are demoralized due to loosing streaks, just so you can demonstrate you belong in a different division by carrying 1v9 .

Ive checked this a couple times by now its always been like that , that system needs to change it doesnt make any sense at all.

It always bothered me how you'd lose LP in promos ... I liked the idea of just a win / lose checklist and if you failed your promos, be placed automatically at 85 LP. Why? Because if you're not at the elo you should be, you'll drop down regardless because your performance doesn't match the elo you're in. But if you failed your promos because of teammates, you can prove you deserve to be higher up and get right back into promos.

Also, as you said it wouldn't be so bad if the way you win didn't matter but it does. Doing a win -> lose -> lose is worse than a lose -> win -> lose because the LP drop. I hate that too, and would rather dodge to lose my promos than risk losing anymore LP because of the win order I went about.

Idk about that. Last series I won-loss-loss and ended up at 90lp. I can tell you I'm not losing 5lp per loss so I'm pretty sure it counted the lp from that win. That's on NA tho idk if the system is different on different regions, but I would assume it's the same.

Papa Slothy3/6/2017, 2:37:38 AM1 votes

it should just drop you at one loss worth of LP

GoronMuncherV3/7/2017, 4:43:58 AM1 votes

Always hated this. Worst part is that win - lose - lose is how the majority of my promos go :/
