He's the lowest pickrate marksman for bot, beating out only Swain and Donger in pickrate for the position, despite a win rate that's higher than the highest pickrate marksman (Ezreal, ofc). If he's not weak, then why is he so unpopular? Something else that caught my eye: his abilities all do magic damage! Ezreal uses exclusively spells, does physical damage. Kog'maw uses exclusively biological projectiles, does magic damage. ???

NodirjonSattarov1 votesWhen it's tank meta, its consequently CC meta as well which Kog'Maw does poorly in. If you the enemy is stasic, then yes he will do well but not if he's being bombarded with the likes of Sion and Galio.

Slythrin Umbreon3 votesPlaying Kog'maw is masochism. He's ridiculously powerful because of how incredibly vulnerable he is. Without insane dedication (as in basically not playing any other champion) and specific requirements from his teammates, you won't do any damage before you die.
AP builds are still pretty decent though, if you can land the ult.
Galiö3 votesKogmaw is a super late game God that mega melts tanks. Super late game doesn't exist and ta ls sont really exist, especially in non professional games.
Also kogmaw only has a Q and W and if u level e by accident before you're forced to you hurt yourself for a few levels so that can be tilting.

Galiö1 votesTbh I think kog would out damage kaisa with his 17% of your max health damage on his rageblade hits twice per second.
So 23 ish% of your max health a second as magic damage on maxed W with just a Rageblade, not including the standard AA dmaage from those hits and W.E rune you use.
Kaisa is safer and has an extra spell to use in her kit, all Kogmaw is... is push W and murder everyone.

For them, he's a prime meal waiting to happen because of how vulnerable and squishy he is. He has no form of mobility, CC, peel or anything that other marksmen do, meaning once someone jumps on him, he's gonna die. And as mentioned by someone else, he's not going to do as well unless a team coordinates to protect him. His lategame is absolutely insane, but he's almost never going to get there. The meta really doesn't favor him, to the point where only mains really play him, hence the high win rate but really low pick rate. Once there's a shift towards a tankier meta, then he'll rise up more in popularity. Until then, I'm afraid he's probably gonna be bottom of the barrel. Which sucks, cause I really like him. lol

You're probably right about that. He's a sitting duck and the midlane assassin is going to roam at 10-12 minutes, so in a game where Zed/LB exists, picking him without a Janna support would be choosing to feed mid.
Sire Hippington2 votesKogmaw uses void acid, i think that can quallify as magical Also, only Ezreals Q does physical, the rest is magic, and the Q is a mystical shot, so strange things might be involved.
I really do not think that Kogmaw doing magic damage with most of his kit is in anyway connected to his low popularity. The main reason is that he relys on a good frontline, something you rarly have in soloQ(and even in pro these days), and Kaisa basically does what he does but more flashy and with more aditional tools(though his range would still be a good advantage in a **controlled **fight if we still had those)

corki and ezreal have escapes, kog does not, therefore kog only really works when his team can peel for him, otherwise he's pretty useless
He also doesn't really take off until late game, and a lot of games don't make it that far to where he can really shine so as a result there isn't much use to play him
