Is there any way to fix the Support Queue?
I play support as a secondary role but I never want to queue as it because it means I will basically never get to play Jungle again, even if I pick it as secondary.

Support Queue is always going to be a problem (in terms of queue) because a large amount of the community does not enjoy the support role, or finds that the role is the antithesis of what they are used to in other roles.
As long as support remains the way it does, the only way a lot of people are going to enjoy support is playing champions like Thresh, Blitzcrank, or some AP champion who 'says' they're going support... when they clearly aren't.
only way to fix it is to have more people willing to play support
Support rework? I main support, but it kinda sucks when I put it as secondary to go top or mid, and get support. A rework focusing on getting people to PLAY support would be nice. Although, thresh would be good for people who don't like playing support....
support main too... what i do is ill 'auto fill" one game and know ill get support then the next game i dont have to get support i get my other two roles top/bot
if you just auto fill one game you are promised to get your selected roles the next game
Ah. Okay! Does it stack? (Example, two fill support, then 2 games guaranteed role?) kinda cool riot does this for us supports! (And fill mains, I guess. Who mains fill?)
yea and no ... i did it a bunch of times in a row to just get a quick game and then i had it last for a couple of games
you will see an icon on the queue screen when you have earned the promise of your roles since you auto filled it looks like a white snowflake
Ah! Okay :) thanks!!! [slayer-jinx-catface]
Bit of a catch 22 isn't it? I don't want to queue as support because there's not enough people who queue as support.

I've thrown around the idea of changing the bases of the support role in order to increase the amount of players interested in the position, some people agree but I haven't seen a major uproar about it and it makes me wonder if I'm just mistaken... would any support main chip in to give their thoughts about the role?
I know you're a support secondary but you don't play it as your MAIN for a reason right? would it be too bad if the support was substracted from bot lane and became a sort of secondary jungler?
What I imagine this would look like is like when two bards appear in opposing teams, both as support, bot lane is all about adcs against each others and the rest of the lanes are subjected to heavy supporting/ganking... is this a bad idea?
then you are lookign at 3 solo laners and two "junglers" and that would change the meta but make it really hard for the 2nd jungler to get gold and experience and if he takes any farm in jungle it will put the other jungler behind...
and basically that is what the original jungler role was they were considered a "roaming support" who got gold income items and usually were tanky utility type of junglers. if you go back and look at season 2 and part of season 3 and they had no rights to their camps as the laners would take them freely. hence why junglers like nunu was so valuable then.
the issue is there are few support mains who liek support then there are the rest of the player base who think if you are a support player your bad and have no skill etc and they wanna "carry" and get kills and dont have the mindset of carrying a game from a supportive position.
for myself i can support a team as a jungler and top laner by the champs i pick and when i adc sometimes ill pick utility based adcs who support the team like ashe... and i can use her kit to allow my team to carry and win and i am not subjected to carrying in the traditional sense
but i have had many games where as a support player i made plays to win lane/ game etc and i carried from that aspect even though i might not have gotten kills or had damage or the kda to show i carried.
Yes I remember how season 2 and 3 were in the jungle, even though, I've never been a jungle main lol, I never meant to propose the idea of 2 junglers though, the second one would need to have a system in place that is exclusive for him and that doesn't disrupts the jungler itself.
the issue is there are few support mains who liek support then there are the rest of the player base
This is my main problem with the role in a nutshell, while I do recognize that there are some people who enjoy the role, this is a choice that needs to be made for a greater good... The game (queue) would benefit a LOT if the support role was more enjoyable in general, bringing in more support players SHOULD be a goal for Riot but keeping the role as it is haven't worked in over 6 years so...
it begs the question... does pleasing a small amount of people justifies the problems we faced with the queue system? I believe it does not.
I do understand that there will be a least liked role no matter what, but I also think that the delta between the most popular and the least popular role is WAY too big (mid vs support player base basically)

No matter how much you rework support it will always be underplayed unless you make them somehow reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy busted.
Support are what they are, bringing utilities/whatever else the team need. 95% of the time they wont bring damage to the table and that's what most people don't like.
No damage=no fun.
no damage=no fun? i find it really fun locking someones movement with champs like leona and blitz.

Everyone is different. Most people don't find that fun.
Most people wants to do damage to kill stuff for KDA. That's what fun for them and as support you're not gonna have much chance to do that.
KDA includes assist. most of the people your probably talking about only see it as KD ratio.
I honestly don't think this is the general mentality, since locking people down feels just as good or clutch healing people or even buffing your whole team.
I think the main problem with changing support is avoiding filtration towards other class of champions and also avoid the complete overshadow of enchanters as a class... say if you made a portal in bot lane that allowed the support to travel from bot to top immediately, not only would top laners take it very often but supports with more movement speed options would rise in popularity (Hecarim support, for example)
Same goes for a system of gold/exp that relies on side jungle units, say if the newly added plants were oriented for support players as opposed to junglers and they gave gold/exp, what would be the value of having an enchanter running around the map as opposed to, again, Hecarim?
Still I believe there has to be a solution and that the support role can be WAY more interesting somehow.
If you really want to make support role more fun, you basically have to look at what is fun in the game and switch the person who is doing these things to be the support. then you have to look at what is not fun, and free the support from doing these things.
basically,
pushing, pressuring lanes, roaming, ganking, making plays on other players, being agressive and catching the other team off guard is fun. getting ganked, keeping another player safe, making another player stronger, having to walk around another player and remove the cost of his errors is not fun.
i.e.
you have to take a bunch of functions that the mid lane and jungler do and make supports more capable of doing these. then you have to make the obligations of supports as a class i.e. guarding the ADC less neccessary, or somehow make the jungler have to do the peeling.
however
this means that comparatively, mid lane and jgl are going to become less fun to play.
You're currently guaranteed one of your roles the next game after supporting or filling a game. It'd be lovely if instead you were guaranteed your primary role, which would allow you to play support approximately 50% of the time (and your other role the other half).
If you go: Jungle primary Support secondary You should get a 4;6 ratio of jg to sup games in gold.
Support role grants double ip and more key frags, bam fixed.
There is, but RIOT is failing to implement it. The solution is simple: balance main / support queuing to result in secondary role <30% of games.
Yes. Next season you will get to pick a role you do not want to play so if you put X / Fill you can say you want to exclude Support as an option.
