Weird observation about Deathcap
I see the item built more often on 'supports' who are pissed they are supporting instead of a carry role than I do on actual mid lane mages.

Carry on
it is because midlaners in general are better players and are avare that Rabadon is in trash state
While when supports just want some ap and they have no idea rabadon is trash
Now that's not true, trash auto filled/new mage supports don't know that Rabadon is bad.
Everyone else who isn't terrible at the game just build a Liandry's if they want not only AP, but additional bulk and better damage in general.
Makes sense, since supports have AP scaling utility that is unaffected by enemy resistances but benefits from amassing AP, while mages primarily attack enemies so they need void staff instead.

Most expensive mage item on lowest income role does not make sense....
it's because mages rush liadris-void stuff to penetrate opponents while supports buy it to deal damage with 1 item and continue with support build
Naw most of the time they go straight balls to the wall ap
Ye lol I see zyra, malz, brand, ect support alot, which is what he is referring to. I saw a post where some one asked if 10% cdr could be put on scepter so these champs could get more cdr, and the example build he showed had deathcap, and he got mad when I commented and said to switch to morellows for cdr and he got freaking pissed off rofl
Cost doesnt matter too much, Concidering deathcap has highest AP given, and it gives bonus AP off of it. Stronger heals, but I wouldnt recomment it first...
What do you mean cost doesnt matter? Ofc it does. Its the most expensive item in the game. You wont have a steady source of income like midlaners. So you aint gonna have the item any time soon. Mages avoid buying it, supp shouldnt even take it in consideration.
If you are a Coin user, you'll pretty much be full build or working on your last item around 40 minutes. So it isn't that unlikely to just throw a Rabadons in unless you really need something else in that slot.
I do build it almost always on
And times to times on
or even
.
Support does have interesting ratios. (Usually around 50~60%) and can pretty much get a lot from rabaddon since it's straightly increasing their utility power while giving them damage.
(Above 200 AP,
's W gains efficiency on each bounce rather than decreasing)
A Utility Raba build could be:
+
/
or
/
+
/
/
(even tho it's overcapping you. It reduces Summoner cooldown)

As for order you can build Raba as a fourth item.
