Very Much a fan of "Aura" style abilities

What i mean is i feel like amumus passive with how its applied is a very healthy design with the ult applying it in an AOE but without the ult he has to get up in peoples faces and hit each one of them to apply it.

While not a typical " aura " like say frozen hearts passive or the new abyssal passive, i feel like this design is very well integrated into the game

I wouldnt be opposed to seeing something give a 5% boost to AD damage coming from a tank similar to amumu being the AP version

Or even a tank giving something similar to maokis old ult with damage reduction, or some kind of hastes.

League has so many champions now that utilizing these types of abilities would only further push optimizing 5 man teams

... But yeah, you're basically describing sona's original kit which was reworked heavily because it offered too much invisible power from her auras. Unlikely they'd do that again.
