@Riot Taliyah Buffs?

Is Taliyah going to recieve any buffs? She's been weak for a couple patches ever since she was nerfed for Worlds. Are you guys planning on buffing her at all. Just small buffs like giving her the 50% more damage to minions on her q?

"We only want certain champions to be played in worlds, Taliyah is not one of them. Soooo nerfs." - Riot Games.

This game company man.

But yes she could stand to get a few buffs I agree.

I'm also interested.

In patch notes 6.20 it's even mentioned by Riot that she is currently subpar and that:

Ashe, Vladimir, and Taliyah. They’ve had a rough couple of patches, so we’re looking to make some changes that make it easier to balance them in the future. But since then there was not a single line about Taliyah mentioned anywhere. Currently in 6.24 there is even Rylaiy's nerf incoming which will be another huge hit for Taliyah (supposedly).

Right now she just can't compete against anyone mid lane especially after level 6. It's jsut you meet a player who is really bad with his champion at that game or not and even from numbers (damage on abilities with items and levels) she is actually on the lowest side of the spectrum in the entire game and I counted supports in that too :(.

I don't think that minion damage is what she needs to get boosted right now. It's more that all her damage was nerfed overall, her lack of lvl 6 power spike and low reliability of her spells with self nerfing Q mechanic together that make her subpar right now. It would be nice to see some leverage on that damage reduction on her successive Q shots and E explosions (on dash explosions) now when all her damage was lowered and she doesn't deal extra damage to minions.

50% damage reduction on her Q in late game is a huge thing right now and even in mid game it already falls off (adding up to 40% - ? - damage reduction on her E to it seems a little bit too much.) and not just that but her Q's worked grounds which self nerfs her in game added to it makes a weak coctail.

Well this seems a little bit too long and too much as a cry of a little baby. So for clarification I'm just trying to point out a few things without emotions. I just did a math on her and this was the result of it nothing more to it.

I hope somebody who has more information could share some info about her.

Thank you for me too.

weird, whenever I play taliyah i do pretty nicely, she has a disengage, a way to prevent ganks, good poke and ways to get into lane aster, what more could you want?

Well the problem is reliablity/reward.

Right now it is as: Unreliable disengage, unreliable gank prevention, unreliable poke.

EDIT: It's too long, I summarized this post in the post below (next one) for shorter reading ;-).

Just think about it. No matter what anyone says there are methods/things/champions that counter someone and it's fine. But Taliyah is one of a very few that is countered by right clicking in the first place plus many other ways (especially with how many champions has dashes, long range, mov speed, ...).

I'm not asking for her to be op. I'd prefer a stable chapmion over anything else.

Basically there is no reason to play Taliyah over any other mage. If you want damage and utility pick Viktor, Lux, Oriana, ... Right now even several supports outpush Taliyah in lane (1v1) which is weird considering she is a mage with technically three AoE abilities.

It's more about an identity. She needs a little push in some direction to be viable again. She is the only champion in game that nerfs itself without any reward (the other one is Rumble but he gains dmg from that for his basics ;-)). Once you push her into her tower she can never get out against anyone who pushes even half decently (and that's everyone now) because of worked grounds. None of her other abilities (or combinations) help her from that because they don't kill minions and put them into a weird range when you don't have time to autoattack them for cs before tower destroys them.

Plus her damage in late game is without a doubt lacking for a mage. Well basically damage reduction on her abilities is probably most (if not the only one) reason why she is in a bad spot now. And the dmg reduction was even added after her abilities were buffed. Problem is that after she got nerfed several times the reduction was the only thing left intact.

And don't forget that Rylai's which is a must have item on Tal is getting some nerfs in 6.24 patch and perhaps even in in some other next patches.

Well that got long and I even deleted three paragraphs. Heh.

In short: she has unreliable dmg, that scales neither into mid nor late game without lvl 6 power spike. Her unreliable utility is subpar with other utility/dmg mages such as Viktor, Lux, Orianna, ...

Dmg reduction on her Q and E was added after she was buffed but after that her damage was nerfed several times without the reduction being touched.

Q has 50% dmg red on successive shots. E has 55% dmg reduction of initiall dmg for exmplosions as base damage out of this base damage every explosion deals 15% less damage than the previous one (so your W into E deals usually no E init dmg - because you need toget close for it and your opponent is not going to let you come so close - then 55% E dmg, then 85% from 55% E, then 60% of 55% E, down to 40% - no more explosions will hurt the target after that, i.e. only four deal dmg).

Rylai's as a must have on Tal is getting nerfed in 6.24 (or maybe a patch later) which will probably hurt her quite a bit.

My suggestion: Leave her early as weak as it is now which was considered the problematic part, but let her scale into mid and late game. Scale down the dmg reduction on Q and/or E with lvls to achieve that.

yeah late game is.. eh

Yeah with "eh" you actually hit the nail right on the head xD.

I just hope they don't make another urgot of her for years with a layer of dust on top. [zombie-nunu-tears]

urgot's actually really nice, thats what i love about the league community ll the "terrible" champions are underused, yet really good!(plus no one know show to counter them CX)

But I'm talking about how he was treated. It really doesn't matter to me if anyone knows how to counter him or not. ;-)

And it's not just me, Rioters were saying the same thing for about two seasons now (and even before). They just set him aside and said that he is getting a rework so they won't do much for him until then (though it has been about two years when that statement seriously came out for the first time ;-)).
