The game is ruined if the jungler doesn't take smite.
Taking the wrong masteries, no flash on annie, no heal on adc, nothing else is like this. Is there any solution that Riot might listen to prevent this?

Could put in a small option for the jungler (the one assigned the role) to "buy" smite at the start of the game, assuming they haven't left spawn.
With Unsealed Spellbook being a thing, it's not like they have an excuse for there not being any framework for changing SS in game. And unlike someone suddenly wanting Teleport, it's not like junglers would go "Hmm, do I need Smite against that team?".
Not true that there is nothing like this. The game is also ruined whenever Rengar, Vayne, Katarina or Yasuo are good.
But it's not even about intentionally not taking smite (like you could choose to do way back when). People don't pay attention in champ select, or they're messing with their new runes and forget their summoners. And with the jungler items and meta around the jungle now A) the entire enemy team can see that you didn't take smite, so they'll invade and harass level 1, and B) you stand absolutely no chance against even the most run of the mill camps because you can't get level 2 off of the first buff.
All of that means exactly 0% chance to even contest a game, FF@15
sees the support sejuani take unsealed spellbook
How about instead of that we all just decide to put in a little effort and not forget to pick Smite.
well for annie its just cuz flash is the most op summoner spell in the game since everyone besides a few must have it Adc's use to take barrier but when riot buffed heal adcs started taking it since its just the best i mean adcs are all about position and the speed buff from heal helps with that while also potentially saving themselves or the support though its starting to change ever since exhaust stopped being good now as a support main i take heal and ask my adc if they can get barrier or if we could double heal also smite is taken since "why not" i mean with smite you have so much objective control plus it heals you for smiting monsters so more sustain in jungle as for masteries well i like the new ones more then the old system the old system had so much hidden power and was nothing more then stats and a few noob traps
I mean I guess. I think it's good practice to always be checking your runes and summoners before every game.
Honestly I don't understand why people are expecting riot to compensate for someone else's mistake.
If you are in the queue as jungle the first literal thing you should do is make sure you have smite equipped. If you make it a habit you will never forget it. I don't understand why people aren't doing that enough to the point to where they feel like riot needs to do something about it.
no heal on adc isnt that bad tbh , you can also get barrier or even cleanse in certain situations ( if there is a lot of cc in ennemy team but u dont want to reduce ur dps by building
)
Like how they recently added warnings for banning a champ a teammate is hovering, they should just warn you as soon as you lock in as jungle if you don't have smite. Since this might happen obnoxiously when jg is role-swapping with someone else, they could suppress the warning if someone else on your team has smite already.
idk why they dont just make it a preset if u get assigned to jg in draft. it should be able to be switched if theres a lane swap, but it seems downright silly to not have it a preset at this point.
I personally think that if you get filled into the jgl position it should automatically put smite as one of your summoners... Now this doesn't mean that it locks it in or that you cant change positions with someone else and pick other spells but at least you will have smite if say you walk away from the computer for a bit before you remembered to change your spells,,,
Just get rid of summoners all together and rebalance the game around not having them. It would be a pain but ultimately for the best.
But can I have an option to replace my laners when they suck? It is possible to jungle without smite and win a game.
There have been a few threads that talk about the smite issue, and Riot has pretty much agreed that design-wise it's not the cleanest, but they don't have a great solution for it.
They needed a way to tune jungle leveling separate from the other lanes, bc if they gave it single lane power they tended to pre-determine the outcome of every game, with smite it lets them tune XP, clears, and also means some champs get a limited Summoner spell to also gate assassins a bit (bc they either need to take ignite instead of flash like Shaco, or lose out on an agressive summoner).
Still, smite is still best-use on junglers bc they have the most freedom to position around objectives, and the true damage to large objectives adds strategic depth to where you position your jungler (if your jungler is at an objective and theirs is not your team has an advantage). It also lets the unique jungle items be fairly powerful because they're gated behind taking the summoner spell.
While it is frustrating when your teammate forgets Smite, the design decisions are generally made around best-play, and smite is the best summoner for junglers pretty much across the board.
change duo lane income + exp so they're not uninhabitable to level/gold dependent champions
Now the jg can go top supp in an emergency
Yeah, the solution is to assign Smite to the F key when you're assigned jungle as you enter the lobby. Completely changeable, moveable etc.
Also, Riot needs to care a little bit.
This literally JUST happened to me, I played adc the game before and was editing my rune page and noticed I still had heal at the last second before game went to loading. Here is my idea to also deal with people switching roles, simply make it so that the assigned junglers summoner spells switch to smite flash upon entering champ select in draft / ranked games. This way even if they want to swap no big deal but it will cut down on a TON of games where people forget they didn't have smite the previous game and never take it. Easy to implement too. PLEASE RIOT SAVE US SO MANY TILTED GAMES!
Give them an option to purchase smite within the 30 first seconds of the game.
My suggestion is to kick jg from the lobby if they don't have smite when the timer reaches 0 unless someone else has smite in the event of players trading roles.
If you get queued for the jungle role in ranked, it forces you to take smite. Easy fix. Though, I must say, I have never had this happen to me, must be a low elo thing.
