Caitlyn needs to be tuned, she is too oppressive.

Hey guys! So, before I start this thread, please do not misinterpret this as a "rage thread, or a rant", as this is not the meaning of this thread. I am saying this, Caitlyn at the moment is too oppressive. But, we'll get to that soon. If you disagree majorly, please atleast read the thread, thank you. If you're a Caitlyn main, well, say you are atleast.

Caitlyn is too oppressive. Her long range makes her extremely difficult to target in teamfights, and she does insane damage like any ADC in a teamfight. But, that isn't what really makes her difficult.

It is impossible to defend a siege from her if she is on the winning team. By placing traps at your turret, you can't engage on her unless you have a teleport ability, and even if you try to engage on her, she can use her safe escape option and long range to kite you down.

This may sound like what every ADC can do, and yes, Caitlyn is balanced. She has her weaknesses, like if her escape isn't on cooldown, she's a walking target. I want Caitlyn to feel fair to play against, and a lot more healthy in general for those who face her though.

I suggest a few things, a thread before has stated, "To give Caitlyn's traps the "Azir" treatment. This to be honest, is a good option, but what range will be specified for the traps? A caitlyn can still place a trap along the border of the "Azir line", and nothing would change.

I propose this change : Make taking out Caitlyn's traps feel more meaningful, stepping on them should mean that she can't place another one right away. But, make the traps slightly stronger to compensate for this change. Caitlyn shouldn't be able to create an entire wall of traps to absolutely annihilate your team, and never allow you to come on her.

the biggest problem with caitlyn is how safe she is. she should be forced to play around her zone of control rather than being safe even when she isn't in her zone of control. right now if you try to aggress on her she can E you for a free head shot. that was never a thing before and its the biggest problem I have with her right now. if she can get away from you easilyi thats one thing. punishing you for trying to get at her when she has been poking you down at 600 range all game is ridiculous. the E already slows you, that is enough.

her damage on headshots is fine to be honest. its busted, but every adc needs something busted to define them. Quinn has her mobility, Graves has his burst shotgun DPS, Ezreal has his kiting, jinx has aoe crits, MF ult is broken af, etc. but for her E to proc one when her traps already do and her passive is already a thing means if she has a head shot primed, you step on a trap. thats one headshot, two head shot, E into a 3rd headshot. its so much burst from a champion who was never meant to be a burst champion. now she plays like a zone control burst poke adc who is safe as hell.

she is too easy to play and far too hard to play against. she is the ultimate no skill adc right now and I think she needs to be harder to play for how rewarding she is. there needs to be more power shifted into other parts of her kit. maybe remove E headshot proc like I said and put more damage on her piltover peacemaker.

They should make her trap feel more like setting an actual bear trap, not like tossing a grenade. Drastically reduce the range and increase the time it takes to set up, but let it last longer or buff it some other way.

Frankly if they didn't buff her trap spam at all it would have been better, but it seems like the latest reworks are all about injecting way too much power into the already annoying parts of a kit Malzahar

Jhin and ashe are both way stronger than caitlyn right now, anyone who thinks caitlyn is "op" and doesnt even mention those have never played bot lane outside of silver.

Problem with nerfing caitlyns traps directly, is shes not a hyper carry. If caitlyns traps are anywhere near ''ineffective'' or ''weak'' Then there is no point in picking her.

There are other adcs that do way more damage late game. So she has to have something op in her kit. She does get outranged by tristana jinx and twitch after early game.

But as a caitlyn main i have to agree with you in that there is little counterplay to her traps. Only thing i can suggest is not letting her beat you to the objective because she cant set up traps around your tower if you guys are infront of it.

But yeah i see where you're coming from
