I built every single Armor item that i could muster and afford and they chewed through me like i was wearing no armor at all.
Seriously what is the point of Armor if even at 400 armor plus a thornmail they still chew through you like your paper?
Yummines4 votesEven if you have 400 armor, that doesn't mean you can just take aggro from a whole team all at once and expect to live for long. Especially if they have champs like Corki that have armor shred.
HandheldBrandon1 votesIt wasn't the whole team Primarily the Lee sin to keep him off my draven and Yasuo and the Talon who was pretty damn fed those 2 alone even with all my item shredded me like butter.

EndlessSorcerer1 votesLee Sin had a Last Whisper, Black Cleaver, and 6% armor pen from masteries. You probably lost over half your armor from his items, and Kalista and Talon had quite a bit of armor pen as well. Instead of purchasing Iceborn Gauntlet, you probably would have been better off buying some more health to work with the armor you already had. A Trinity Force (if you wanted the damage) or Frozen Mallet (if you wanted the slow) would probably have been better options.
And, well, all of their AD champions were fed. Even if you are a tank, if you fall behind your opponents they can still kill you.
HandheldBrandon1 votesI had Randuins and Sunfire and had a trinity force but they were melting me even faster when i had that so i sold that and built more armor then built the frozen gauntlet once i knew the game was over. Not sure what else i could have gotten at that point because nothing i did worked. Perhaps a frozen heart but the real problem was that they were melting me before i could really do anything other than peel them off Draven and Yasuo. The enemy was predictable in that they used the same tactic every time to get to Yasuo and i stopped them dead in their tracks every time but while the rest of their team focus on Nautilus (they had an affinity for killing him) Talon and Lee Sin would just Ignore the taunt once it ended and Melted me and then would Proceed to Melt Yasuo and Draven.

I woulde've gotten more health instead of Sunfire. Also no one on your team had Exhaust, which could've been helpful.

HandheldBrandon2 votesNo sir i was not i was travelling with my team and doing my best to peel for my carries but Lee Sin and talon Were Melting me almost as fast as they melting Draven. Only took them 2-3 seconds longer.

There is validity in your claim though. While Iceborn isn't the best of items for Shen, I'd have gone frozen mallet or warmogs but that's just me.
Of course they weren't full AD, but more than enough to validate going mostly armor.
Lee Sin going BC and LW was a big issue. Even between you and Nautilus going full tank, that's a massive blow to any defenses you could build.
Yep, not a perfect case, but I'd say a good argument for the need for defenses to get some minor buffs.
HandheldBrandon1 votesYea the lane was actually going in my favor most of the time But he roamed bot lane and got a double kill and after that no one could touch him. I wanted to go Warmogs but by the time it came to that point they were already chewing through all of us.
Kuroi861 votesYeah, Lee Sin snowballing is kind of one of those holy crap situations you want to avoid at all costs. Keep him from snowballing, he's decent late game with his utility. If he snowballs though, well... Lets just say Kat and Akali got nothing on him.

HandheldBrandon1 votesThornmail was to deal with Kalista everything else was just to help mitigate whatever i could. Frozen heart would have been pointless against everyone but Kalista as well as they didnt rely on basic attacks for most of their damage.
