I feel like ranting for a bit.

Rageblade has never been a balanced item. The idea of an attack speed hybrid item is cool but very few champions really make use out of it. The only champions that actually use it are ones that can abuse its terribly overload passive when on the right, and very few, champions.

The main champions that come to mind when I think of Rageblade are Master Yi, Vayne, Kai'sa and old Kayle. Vayne abuses her W passive, Yi abuses his E and passive, Kai'sa abuses her passive and old Kayle kind of used the item like it was meant to be used. Now Neeko abuses her W passive with it and is most likely going to be nerfed because of it.

I dont even think Rageblade should work like it does now. Vayne, Neeko and Yi only use this item because it stacks their three (four for Yi) hit passive faster. Honestly, it shouldnt work like that in the first place and it's crazy how strong Yi and Vayne are once theh build it because of this. They arent over powered by any means unless they have this one terrible item.

It shouldn't be allowed to stack anything other than onhit damage. Then we can actually give the item itself more stats and the champions that abuse it real power added on to their kit. Maybe changing Rageblade to do 50% of onhit damage dealt as bonus true damage with every second auto could be a cool buff to it. Making it even harder to itemize against the champions that want hybrid damage. That's just off the top of my head though.

Turn it back into a hybrid item.

Grant Physical damage OnHit based on your AP.

Grant Magic damage OnHit based on your bonus AD.

Get rid of Phantom Hit and give it some actually decent stats.

It would still be great on hybrid champions, but Phantom Hit seriously warps the game.

Only reason why anyone ever builds that item is because of phantom hit. Every champion that uses would rather build something else since it stats suck but phantom hit is so ridiculous.

Eh...it was a niche item before the phantom hit got added (it did AOE damage instead of Phantom hit). It was basically a second Tiamat but with no active.

"Phantom hit" has never been balanced.

No matter the incarnation: be it the old feral flare stacking in the jungle, be it the current hybrid rageblade, straight up doubling on-hits will never ever stop breaking the game.

i dont think it was wrong as a niche item. the only reason why it was changed was because it was only bought on a few champions.

but on those champions, rageblade was a core item. it was fine as an attack speed/on hit hybrid item without phantom hits imo.

Just saying the original version of Rageblade was literally just lots of AP/AD with some AS. It did nothing other than grant lots of stats and was mainly a Kayle item and no one gave a fuck.

I understand wanting to give it a passive but Riot can't help but make it extremely broken for some reason.

You are overvaluing Rageblade on vayne and master yi

  1. Rageblade has bad build path
  2. Rageblade is expensive
  3. Rageblade gives ability power which both dont want
  4. Rageblade gives %Penetration which both Yi And Vayne dont FKING NEED like at all. Dont fking build %Pentration on true dmg Melters unless vs 5 TANKS
  5. Rageblade is kinda delayed wont even proc in 1vs1 as their targets ll be already dead

Master yi has like 8 core items (No other champ has as many core items tbh) rageblade is no longer one ever since the item received penetrations

Old kayle had overlap with current rageblade to due to her passive

Now Kaisa has 0 overlap with this item

Kaisa is tier 0 champion for a year. As far as high elo goes, low and medium elo dont keep up with high elo kaisa builds Kaisa is a massive winrate enhancer. IF YOU ARE kaisa main you are few divisions higher then you should be

Now you can talk that the previous rageblade had better yi/Vayne synergy but thats in a past There is also nothing wrong with champions having cool DPS spike items

This is like saying zed has never become a healthy champion, Although they may have their ups & downs they will balance back to stauts quo. Of course I know the kind of person YOU are only accepting example. Alright kled, yasuo AND kaisaa have all had healthy fases with the item*[slayer-jinx-catface]*

I like the idea but why not just make it into a corki kind of passive if yo wanna be all hybrid about it? Make it so that ifa champ is realistically built as a hybrid tha tthe on hit damage is split between magic and physical damage down the middle 50/50 we dont need anymore true damage in the game but i do think we need real hybrids not this im a just get the best defensive items of both or im a just burst someone becasue i can do it better as an ap..

maybe change it up a little so that way instead of having a stacking mechanic for teh ad and ap it has a flat ad ap ratio and then increase the attack speed bonus per auto slightly and all on hit effects lets just say for the example wits end was the items 42 magic damage a hit well then it would be converted to 21 phy 21 magic. i say make it split becasue of items like botrk doing percent health damage would be more malanced to have it do split damage.

as i posted this i got another thought on it if rageblade was switched to something liek this it would open some new builds of sorts for different characters with a chance to make them more viable and or harder to counter act without being ass oppresive because of passive stacking mechanics. but then as an adc item it would be way more niche making i would say maybe 2 or 3 adcs able to use it a hand full of tops with off meta builds and then some mids. but hey just an idea i dont work for a balance team.
