What to do when other team has an afk/dc

I just finished a game where the other team had a dc. I volunteered early on to sit out until he came back. This turned into a 20 minute game. Thats 20 minutes I had to babysit my unused champ to make sure leaverbuster didnt bust me. This game no one objected to me sitting out but in the past I have been threatened with reporting and in at least one case where my team had 2 dcs I was told I was being reported by the entire opposing team for feeding. My feeding was me spamming laugh and trying to run by the enemy without doing any dmg and them 5v1ing me everytime(this was aram).

So my questions are what am I expected to do in these situations and do I need to worry about being reported when I behave in the ways I described above?

Edit: I see the confusion i wasnt clear. This is all unranked, none takes place on sr and is mostly aram. So no ranked, no sr. Now what do you think, if you even care at all anymore.

I usually start surrender votes when the opposing team has a d/c. If my team agrees to it then we surrender otherwise I will continue trying to win.

It may feel like the right thing to do to even out the teams but it is disrespectful to your teammates who are trying to win. League is a game about taking every advantage you can get. Screwing over your opponents is the whole point of jungling.

You continue playing the game as you would. It just turns out you have a slight advantage

Dc's will happen against you, so when they happen for you I think you should just take advantage and make sure you win. That said if riot could implement a program for players to opt in to where if there is a dc against them they both sit out of the game and the volunteer gets a bonus for it, that would make the 4v4 a lot more fun for the 4 people who had the dc. Kudos for your kindness in doing it voluntarily - I just hope it was normals. Never know if someone lost a promo to a dc and now should win a promo due to one...

With respect to 2 dcs on your team, I guess you should talk to your team before doing anything. If they think they can carry it 3v5 then why not try? If they agree it's over then go ahead and mess around for fun - they agreed so you won't get reported. In general I think you're responsible for your conduct regardless of your teammates, like you can't leave a game because someone else left, it will still count against you. So similarly you can't start trolling because you think the game is lost if your teammate wants to try they have every right to report you.

My 2 cents, just ask your teammates and you'll have no problems.

Honestly, if someone dc's you should just play. Being polite is definitely a good thing, but you really shouldn't do it in this case. There's no point in sitting out really.
