will the new katarina be a viable top laner again?
I've always wanted to play her top on ranked without people griefing.

It doesn't depend on a champion but on the meta. If heavy tanks or Bruisers are top lane meta ofc Katarina ain't gonna be viable top because of their tankyness, damage and hard CC but if there's someone who picks a mage top or something that's weak against Katarina, than why not?
Riven is considered TOP but you can play her Mid sometimes as a counter pick. Swain is Mid lane mage but can go top from time to time, same goes for Quin who's ADC but can go top, etc.
I think most mages top, are stupid.
For the reason that, magic damage is highly countered by Magic resist.
People like Katarina have a limited burst damage.
If someone sent Kat top, I would take Mundo, Pantheon, Malphite, GAREN, anyone with a disengage who can be built tanky.
