Why build Bloodthirster first on Ashe rather then Infinity Edge?

I was introduced to the idea of building Bloodthirster on ashe first from watching LoL youtubers who stated that pro-players also do this. I get that Ashe doesn't crit normally but I don't understand why build bloodthirster first vs Infinity Edge first? Infinity Edge increases Ashe's crit chance but as bonus attack damage to frosted enemy targets, in addition to the 250% crit damage increase to her passive. Wouldn't the damage of IE exceed Bloodthirster's sustain and shield? Why would a player go for Bloodthirster first? and What is the pros and cons of having such an item first compared to IE?

I know that Ashe would work well with IE if you can do well. If you're not doing great BT would be nice so you can just power farm and stay in lane. The original Draen build always rushed BT because his axes do so much freaking damage the lifesteal is better than crit. I think sneaky introduced the newer draven build order of: BF -> Vamp -> IE -> BT -> finish build.

I think that on ashe if you want to stay in lane and farm cause you're behind BT is a good choice. I think that IE works very very well on her if you're doing ok or ahead. If you are really behind its static shiv time. This way you can just out wave clear and not worry.

You get a leg up in sustain over the other guy who's taking forever to finish IE

Blood Thirster actually used to be the go to rush on ADC's. However, with champions like Vayne and Jinx dominating the bot lane due to how well they synergize with items, you really want the early damage from IE. The only times you would want to buy BT first now is if you're just having a flat out hard time surviving lane. That way, you can stay way longer than the enemy if you can reliably poke their HP down.

Its bc she has no dash or and kind escape tool. So they rush BT for sustain.

bloodthirster -more sustain and survivability

ie -damage

build bloodthirster if you're really having a tough time surviving lane, otherwise ie is usually better.

It's all situational. If the enemy bot lane has tons of poke, you get bt to stay in lane for longer and thus get more farm. If everything is going well, get ie for max damage.
