TFW I see a thread about matchmaking being broken or players raging about a loss with a good "score"
So I am seeing multiple threads a day for some time about how someone got 20 kills and lost and thinks matchmaking is broken and is quick to blame anyone but themselves (this applies to going after the "S" rank and the "ranked latter" b/s/g/p/d/m/c).
These are the core issues that determine your rank (not all but a HUGE portion) in no particular order (factors that affect you ability to destroy the enemy nexus). Please do not make another thread about matchmaking unless all these issues are covered otherwise no one can make an informed opinion. I reiterate without these core elements being included in each discussion with some degree of measure all we can do is circle jerk or witch hunt (nothing productive).
- Creep score - not just how much you get but what % you get (different for lanes/jungle/support 3 distinct categories). http://i.imgur.com/X1Y2lvB.png (saw a post about why someone could not get an S+ with 186 cs in a 30 minute game laughing out loud that he was unaware it was so low a %)
- Objectives destroyed - towers/rift/baron/dragons
- Time spent in shop - AFK time / death time / amount of times you backed when not killed
- Roaming - how much time did you spend away from farming and how productive was it
- Decision making - did you make correct choices about when to back or when to roam or when to tam fight or when to split push
- Strategy - Were you using a strategy appropriate for your rank, aware of "if" your team comp complimented it, and were you aware of its counter strategy
- Game knowledge - How many champions do you know how to play as/against with comprehensive knowledge of spell effects/cool downs/scaling ratios
- Map awareness - how aware are you of other players on each team as the game goes on, how often do you look at items and scores of each player
- Counter play - How much did you adjust and how quickly did you react to the plays made by enemies, how often were your decisions correct & informed
- Co-operation - How much synergy did you have with the decisions of your allies, and how well did you communicate timely about your plays to allies
- Reaction time - how much ping and thought delay do you have before executing maneuvers, are you reacting with instincts correctly and with low ping
- Vision game - how many wards did you place and destroy during the match, how appropriately timed and placed was each ward
- Endurance - how much abuse (in lane and chat) can you take from enemies and allies before you start accepting a surrender vote or playing to lose
- Self control - when you get that tilting feeling or life is hard are you able to wait till it passes before you queue for another ranked match
Please include anything I overlooked as I'm only bronze and may have overlooked something. I'm just losing my mind seeing all these threads where at worst they ignore the entire list and at best they can tunnel vision on one or two of these while ignoring or unaware of the rest. The goal of this post is to more clearly define how to discuss if there is a matchmaking issue not to make a claim either way. We need to move past ranting and raving in all caps that we are mad and more elegantly examine the process.
