Rune Refunds and why I quit

I have played this game since season 1. I liked how the game had so much customization with runes/masteries. I recognized the opportunity cost of unlocking new champion vs unlocking new runes with ip. I enjoyed the trade off of making champions you had stronger by unlocking runes or by spending points on champions to allow move diversity in champion pool. To me the choice between unlocking champions and runes was based on style of the individual.

Anyways, I played the game for years to unlock all the runes playing as few champions as possible as to maximize the amount to spend on runes. I spent all my ip for years on runes as well as $100+ several times on rp to unlock ip boosts and rune pages to further progress what I saw as the "RPG" element of the game (collecting gear).

So now all runes are free and revamped, ok? but all the opportunity cost i spent to get runes > champions feels wasted effort since now everybody gets all the runes free. But all the games and $ i spent on this game are rendered meaningless.

I find the logic that because runes are being upgraded your giving no refunds is wrong. If i spent my ip and rp on champions instead of runes and rune pages i would have unlocked all the champions by now. literally I finished unlocking all the runes right around the cutoff is for no refunds (end of season 6).

This is a giant slap in my face a consumer and loyal fan of the game. If rune pages wont cost currency now and everyone gets 20 i lose out. I don't lose out because ur giving everyone else free things, i lose out because I spent time and money on something in the game that is being handed out to everyone for free, meanwhile I keep all the opportunity cost of not having many champions unlocked.

Back when dodge runes came out and then went away we got full refunds and i felt safe spending the next 5+ years dumping so much time and effort to unlock every tier 3 rune meticulously calculating which runes was most helpful most cost effective and etc.

I feel like taking away the rune grind took away the rpg element of collecting gear to get stronger away which was not good. But the fact that prices got reduced after i purchased runes and then only partial refunds on reduced prices...... RANT RANT RANT RANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the purposed changes 100's of my hard earned $$ will be worth basically nothing. I find none of the things being offered as compensation meaningful. I spent real money to get runes faster several times and also spent $ on rune pages too. I'm not quitting because others get runes free (although i am mad about that i feel cheated) but I am quitting because all the ip and rp i spent over years of play are being disrespected and i will have a season 1 account with 5000+ games played and so much real money spent and only have the 40 cheapest ip cost champions (i have never owned a 6300 ip chamion or 7200 ip champion)? and u think an icon or a skin will make me feel good that i bought every rune in the game instead of champions and now i don't get any rune "advantage" or champions.

Ip was spent for power in game. spend ip on runes u get raw stats , spend it on champions u get to trade picks and have more ban choices in champion select. with this change i lose everything i had gained from spending all my ip on runes and my rp on rune pages and ip boosts. If u offered a refund i could reinvest my power into owning more champions and i could "deal". by offering me a fraction of what i invested I am truly outraged and will be finding another game for entertainment.

look into my account history my purchases and tell me how u think i was planning my accounts progression, look at how meticulous for years i invested in runes > champions. **Why is it only those who spent on runes are punished? why not make all champions free and give ppl no refunds and make runes stay expensive? i bet everyone who went for champions would be pissed like me. **

BAD MOVE RIOT this is where we part ways not even a new pantheon skin could win me back now, no more $ or my time for you unless u fix this.

P.S. I haven't played in a month so u know i'm serious.

They're revamping the old rune system and with that there will be a lot more diversity and unique playstyles. Even though I would love a full refund myself it's not happening. I Guess it's time to move on and focus on the AMAZING new runes getting added to the game.

Who the hell ever said you had to own every rune? Realistically all it took was two pages and you could use them on every champion.

Honestly you buying every rune and not putting anything into anything else is just a big screw up on your end. Like no one ever said to do that. Hell, a bunch of runes are practically useless. People would only start working on all runes when they had all champions and nothing else to spend IP on.

Not a fan of this change to the game. I rolled with all changes over the last year or so but this one makes me a little tilted. I like building champs to play different.
