Sworeclipse··2 votes·795 views

Heya, I really want to know some fun champs and strong ones to play. I wanted to play anivia, but my friend said shes too hard. I wanted to play fizz, but my friend says hes not fun and way too hard. I also wanted to play nidalee but idk if shes for me and if shes fun or not. I also REALLY want gnar but I heard hes hard and he costs 6300 IP D;. I would love some suggestions because im really torn here, thanks in advance :).

When I started the game, I looked through the roster and Anivia immediately caught my eye (mainly because she was higher up in alphabetization). I saved up all my IP to buy her, and she became my favorite champ for a very long time. Nothing struck me as hard about her, since I didn't really care how much I failed, so long as I was getting better.

So seriously, just choose whoever you want. Eventually one will click and you'll start having fun ^^

Oh ok!, Thank you so much!!!!!

Anivia isn't hard at all really. Fizz is low skillfloor/high skillceiling. Nidalee is just trash right now. Gnar is fairly difficult I'd say, tons of things to keep track of and having to micro-manage your rage bar and know when to use it and all. Also just not very good right now.

What roles do you like the most? (top/mid/whatever) Or what champion types do you like the most? (tank/bruiser/assassin/adc/support/etc)

Sworeclipse1 votes

Well, I used to main support (level 6 sona) but it got boring after a while. I'm not that good as an adc... TERRIBLE at tank. I'm pretty good as an assassin and I prefer top and jungle. Also, thanks for telling me the info at the top of your post! What do you mean by low skillfloor/ high skillceiling?

Astôlfo3 votes

Hmm. Most assassins are either mid or jungle. Mostly mid. Low skillfloor = easy to pick up and play, rewarding, can do well without having to learn too much High skillceiling = lots of potential, versatility, and various high-level plays that can come with lots of experience

For non-assassin types that are decent at top and/or jungle

You might like Irelia (a toplaner). She's fairly simple, mostly auto-attack based and has a very well-rounded kit that includes almost everything (stuns/slows as CC, sustain, true damage, gapclosers, so on and so forth). She's a bruiser build usually, Triforce being core.

Nautilus is pretty good and getting more buffs soon (not sure why, he doesn't need any). He's an AP bruiser/tank with tons of CC, decent damage, good in top/jungle/support, and has a shield that has AoE burn damage as well as high base damages.

Diana is a pretty strong mid/jungle. She's an AP duelist with fairly strong burst (not to the amount of an assassin, but strong nonethless). She has a 3-bombshield charge, refreshing gapclosers, an AoE pull-in (like a gravity sink towards herself), and an arc skillshot that's fairly easy to land.

Trundle is very strong, has tons of life regen, and his ultimate literally steals stats from the enemy target to buff himself while weakening them. He has strong damage and decent CC and is great in both top and jungle.

Malzahar is alright, although his passive nerfs have hurt him a lot. He's good in top mostly now, because of his ranged poke and his CC denial of most tops (who are usually melee).

For assassin types Ahri might be decent, although she's not REALLY an assassin. She's really weird. She has an extremely well-rounded kit, much like Irelia, except ranged autos, AP, and much more reliant on skillshots.

Talon's in a sort of rough spot and due for changes/reworks soon, but he's not too shabby and is one of the classic iconic assassins. Katarina is another getting a rework in the update, but she's pretty simple and easy to at least initially pick up, although she struggles in higher levels of play.

If you want me to offer opinions on other champs, feel free to ask me.

Ah ok, thanks so much for telling me this o.O!! I'm a level 5 talon but he gets REALLY boring after playing him a lot XD. Thanks for suggesting diana and nautilus, I'll search more about them and see if I should get them or not. I'm a level 3 katarina but I'm not THAT good with her. I played Irelia in the champ rotation, and she is actually really fun! I'm thinking about getting her but i'm not quite sure yet. I want to ask if nocturne jungle is good? Or even nocturne top lane? I never play mid lane because it ALWAYS gets picked and if I play draft or ranked the queue takes way too long. I tried nocturne in champion rotation and I thought he was pretty fun, but when I searched startegy guides and if he's a good pick nowadays, everyone is saying he is garbage and can't gank at all in jungle. I really appreciate your help and I just want to say I'm EXTREMELY grateful. -Thanks again ;D

Nocturne jungle is okay, but he's a really underplayed pick, so pretty much the only ones that play him are his few mains far and beyond. He can be quite strong though. Top? Ehhh.

Glad to see you enjoyed Irelia, try picking her up. I think you'd like her.

Noc's utility is always pretty useful provided you can work together with your team to maximize its benefits for his ult in particular, as well as his spellshield giving him bonus AS, and how you can just build him full AS + lifesteal to make him insanely strong and sustain-y.

His ganks are fine. Run in, Q hit at an unmissable range (whatever that is for you), glide in on the tracks, Fear, smack them to death.

Ah ok, thanks for advice! I think I'll buy nocturne and play him jungle lifesteal :D

Fiddlesticks doesn't matter the role. you can play Middlesticks, Topplesticks, Supportlsticks, Junglesticks, and Carrysticks

Sworeclipse1 votes

XD, I play topplesticks ;D

Play champions that you like! Try them in free week and if they click with you, buy them!

If I stopped every time someone said : "Oh X champion is too hard for you right now", I wouldn't have gotten better at the game.

My personal take on fun champions are high mobility champions. Lee Sin, Ezreal, Yasuo etc. They're all "hard", but the challenge is the fun part!

Sworeclipse1 votes

Ah ok, I tried all 3 of them and I only liked lee sin XD. I'll try and see which champion really "fits" my playstyle XD :D

Zane Zephyr1 votes

Why don't you just try them out instead of just blindly listening to them? Ekko, Aurelion Sol, and Ahri are pretty fun to play in my opinion

Sworeclipse1 votes

Ok thanks! I was thinking of playing ahri too XD

Nidalee is my main. and has been since season 3 she is VERY fun to play, but she really isn't that great at the moment. her clear to reach lvl 3 is also pretty hard. (although not anywhere NEAR as hard it it was before 6.15)

but if you looking for "best" champions then you can scratch nid off the list. because her clear is so hard and she now needs to get heal at lvl 2 instead of pounce, she is stupid easy to invade and kill.

nid also has a CRAZY amount of counters and really cant do much in a teamfight.. or ANYTHING vs tanks or bruisers.

if you looking for a FUN champ to play.. nid certainly will fit that role for you. but she really isn't in a great spot at the moment and hasn't been in a good spot since the removal of the root on her traps.

Sworeclipse1 votes

ah ok, thanks for telling me this!

The guy is worried about Anivia being hard... Nidalee is fun (and oh jeez if you get fed), but faaar too difficult imo.

The harder the champion, the more fun they are ASSUMING you're good enough to play them. Please just stay away from Yasuo ;p Fizz is really fun, and not too hard. Just watch some gameplay videos and be sure to use his W when auto attacking between spells.

Sworeclipse1 votes

Ok, thanks for the advice! I'm definetly not going to play yasuo, I tried him once and fed XD.

The first champion that really became a "main" for a little bit was Ahri, just her mobility and play-style seemed great to me. After a bit I got bored of her and I picked up Ekko, and he's a blast. Gragas is another champion that I'm probably going to look into climbing with, he's just really fun to play.

Sworeclipse1 votes

Ah ok, thanks! I really want to try ahri out, she seems so fun ;D

dude play like yi

Sworeclipse1 votes

I tried him, I fed so many times. Can't play him lol ;D

I'd say go with Gnar. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this way- if you want a champion, there's something about it that appeals to you. Play that champion, and see if you can make it work. Most people probably picked their mains because they "REALLY want [champion}" and because they wanted it so much, they devote time to learning and getting good at that champion. Play at least 1 or 2 Co-Op vs Ai games. Will you feed the first Normals game? Yeah, I'd suspect so. Will you feed the second game? Probably...

For me personally, Talon just seemed sooo badass. So I bought him, and he's now my main. Malzahar also looked like a lot of fun (this was before LCSbigPlays) so I bought him. I also thought that Viktor would fit me quite well (Stalinium... Viktor is kinda russian... yeah) and he looked like he had an awesome kit.

Just go with whoever you think you want :D

ah ok, thanks xD.

I highly enjoy Kha'Zix when I play him, according to my mates I play with I have like an alternate personality with him that includes laughing maniacally shortly before getting a quick kill and talking to myself, so I don't play him as much anymore to keep the disturbance at a minimum, I take him top and mid though when I do

On a less psycho note I can recommend Gnar heavily, been playing him since release, I didn't find much difficulty in learning him, Fizz is also pretty fun too, once you figure it out you can burst an enemy that has max health without taking damage and being at 200 health

Sworeclipse1 votes

Ok, thanks so much!!! I used to main kha zix (before I was level 6 lmfao). I think I'll save up for nocturne, gnar, and fizz ;D
