Hextech Crafting Issues - Champion Shards Oh My
Riot is currently looking into how to more prefect their current Hextech Crafting however most noticeable (Personally) has been the ridiculous amount of champion shards you get in the current system. You can literately purchase champion shards in the store but you still get a lot of champion shards from your boxes you earn/purchase. I play often so I don't get a lot of keys but when I do it's always champion shards I get. No skins of any type, not even wards, just champion shards. And that just, well sucks. If I'm lucky after 10 games i can get a key shard, so 30 games to get a complete key, yet the past 5 or so boxes I got 4 champion shards and 1 skin. I think most annoying fact is that they are champion shards for those i don't even play, so mastery isn't very likely. No obviously the Hextech Crafting system is meant to give out '"random" rewards, I say "random" because I'd make since if the better rewards are harder to get. So it's not like everyone will get Hextech
day one, however when you get basically garbage, as your prize so many times there is no reward at all. It's like if you play 24/7 for a week and your prize is a poop emoji, WTF comes to mind. Anyways in terms of actual payout this random system could give you 10
shards, no one needs 10
's. But the same system could theoretically give you Hextech
for your first prize.
Moving on the take away is that Champion shards, especially since you can purchase them, should show up so often, even in a "random" system. Weighting them so lessen the likelihood of getting them could work but they you would run into issues of having the poop emoji show up and we don't want to take that away. So maybe a system that increases the likelihood of getting something "good" or more so getting a skin shard if you get a lot of "poorer" prizes from the crafting system. They current payout system is rather poor for what you put in and it's something that should be looked.
