In the current meta adcs need almost a full build before they can really contribute to a fight without getting straight murdered, at least in high elos.
There's also a lot of posts about how adcs have great burst but they really don't.
This board needs a reality check badly. Its no wonder riot takes complaints on reddit 100x more seriously

You have to understand these are the people who get autofilled support and rage at the ADC. These are the people who pick Darius top or whatever, and get dumped on by a top Vayne. These are the people like the one I had in my game other day who picked Jayce of all things, and then had the audacity to complain how OP E Max Nasus was all game because he lost lane. These are the kinds of people who come here and complain about that ADC they couldnt manage to dive 1v5 and murder that one time. They completely forget all the Ashes/Jhins/etc that they just run at like a mongoloid and spam right click on like a bot and kill. They dont remember all the times they are a 2 item leblanc and manage to 100-0 that 7/0 Jhin before he can even respond. Nah, all they remember is that one time that an ADC got away, or they lost lane to something like Top Vayne, or they got autofilled to support and had to sit and despise the ADC like some ugly girl in the corner being mad at the hot chick like its all her fault she is ugly. They sit in support and rage at the ADC like they purposely put them in that situation.
Those are the people who come here complaining about ADCs. Because we all know the first time they played ADC, and that Olaf hit R and just ran at them and mowed them down, they would probably quit the game.

I mean, that's how good players play it even, they don't build tank items. it isn't stupidity, its how the class is designed. they're meant to get blown up pretty easily.
