Just something to think about. I definitely got vibes like that from what little we learned about her relationship with Kahina. On its own that wouldn't really mean much, but her struggle with hiding her magic powers also read as a really explicit gay metaphor. Of course not every x-man is gay either, but the combination of her relationship with kahina and being in the magic closet def made me think 'oh is she gay/bi?'

I think that people are too damn persistent about finding canon ships.
Nothing about the relationship between Kahina and Lux has been implied to be one of romance, metaphors or no. Nothing about Lux's sexuallity has even been hinted at.
I think it's possible for people of the same sex to have deep, abiding friendships without a desire to have sex with each other. It's like the whole Sam/Frodo thing. They're friends. They love each other. But there are more types of love than the erotic.
What gave you this notion that she loves Kahina that way? I don't see anything solid that could mean this. Your explanation in the OP seems super forced. Seems very forced. Plus, unless I'm mistaken, isn't Kahina, like, a lot older than Lux, being the commander and such. I doubt Demacia is the kind of place to put teenagers in as commanders. Just doesn't seem their style.
I wouldn't really mind either way if Lux was straight or gay or even if she sexually identified as an apache helicopter. Her sexuality does not define her.
Honestly, I would hate it if Riot announced that she was or even wasn't gay/bi. This is a video game and I come here to play a game and have a great time with friends and the community. I don't come here to receive a political or cultural statement.
