Is Riot gonna make ranked in League performance based?

So Blizzard just announced at Blizzcon 2017 that ranked for Heroes of The Storm will now work on performance base for matchmaking and so on. They heard their fan base's cry about their win/loss system and decided to fix it. So will Riot follow suit and make the change as well? We all know that the LoL community has had an issue with matchmaking in ranked for quite some time now. I've seen it since season 3 (that's when I started). Riot already has a grading system put in place for League, so how hard would it really be to make it performance based? It would stop people who boost via duos. It would put all the trolls together more often. It would allow those who actually care about the game to be surrounded with like minded players. I don't see a down fall to it and I guess neither did Blizzard. I hope that Riot comes to their senses and says hey, maybe season 9 should be the season we finally make the change that the community wants and has been asking for. Think about it... the person who gets an S+ and tried everything they could to carry but still loses, loses that precious LP. the person that got carried and gets a C- wins, getting that precious LP. With the new system Blizzard is implementing though it would be the exact opposite. Yes you lost the game, but you got an S/A here's the LP you deserve. Yes you won, but you got a C/D so you're gonna have to lose some LP. Heroes of The Storm has made the change. Now it's your turn League.

I don't understand this type of system would be fucked up to abuse. Farm Minions. Farm the monster camps. Farm champions and every time you are low back and go back. How would this work with say Junglers? Can I just farm the JG gank a lane kill someone and go back to farming the jg and lanes. Never help my team but act like i'm going for my Mastery Token. Steal every kill I can. Basically ignore everyone and only work on me so I can climb while walking over the people who actually did all the work.

Hopefully not, it's a terrible idea and people have demonstrated time and time again that good players already quickly and effectively climb to where they belong through a system that purely looks at wins, losses, and how expected the win/loss was based on the MMRs of the players involved.

Maybe HotS needs performance based ratings because that game is engineered to keep good players from excelling in matches, but it's more likely this is Blizzard once again cowtowing to the playerbase in all the wrong ways for all the wrong reasons.

I mean, there are just as many problems with that system. You can't really win in a team oriented competitive game.

That being said, I would ultimately support a change like this. I'd like to see a hybrid model where the BEST player in the game or on your team gets a small bonus, and the WORST player in the game/team recieves an extra penalty.

IF it ends up working out in HotS (and that's a big if), I doubt it will transfer to League. HotS is a different enough game (for instance, no CSing, items, everyone on your team is the same level, neutral objectives are a much bigger deal to name a few) that such an idea might work in it, but not in league

no, the only driving force should be the win or the loss. the moment that stops people start doing literally anything other than that.
