Autofill is the worst feature Riot has ever implemented.

Autofill is truly one of the most confusing and contradictory systems that Riot has ever added to this game. In the past, one of the joys of draft was being able to choose your role. This lead to less tilting, less character select screen toxicity and smoother games. I understand Riot wants players to be flexible, as the best player is able to adapt to their scenario. Which is very understandable. However knowing where you don't shine is also a strength in itself. As someone that has played this game since S2 I can assure you the Jungle simply isn't for me and it never will be. Have never played it even once. Do I consider myself a bad player? No. It's really beyond me that you can que for two different roles and still not get what you signed up for. Out of the issues with S7 this is pretty much the worst i've seen thus far now that character select screen tilt similar to blind pick has found its way into draft.

Can someone explain this mentality to me? This doesn't even apply to me since i'm literally always "protected" from their own toxic system due to me maining support again this season. It's the people that don't main support that I have in mind. Would you rather someone that actually enjoys the role they are in or someone that doesn't have a clue what they're doing for the sake of "faster matchmaking".

In the past? You were autofilled every 5 games when you were last pick.

  1. Pick order like seasons 5 and earlier.
  2. Role Selector combined with Dynamic queue where teams of all sizes can join so the teams of players can be required to spread out across roles like season 6. Note that there still might be bottlenecks that slow queue times.
  3. Role Selector combined with autofill.

Pick your poison.

That's the logic.
