Rationalization of the NERF made to Ghost.

SO. In the latest patch ghost has had quite the nerf and I can't grasp any reason why it needed these changes other than a shadownerf to Warwicks ultimate mechanic. I understand Warwick's ultimate was giving him the option of basically initiating from river by activating ghost. This is probably the only way they could nerf WW without putting him in the patch notes and getting backlash from the community. The change of making ghost back ended as opposed to front ended has made it become a preemptive decision as opposed to reactive. This is an overall nerf across the board to everyone that uses it. After playing one match testing out the Vladimir changes (lol) I realized exactly how bad these changes are. Literally horrendous experience. Can someone at least tell me the other scenarios that ghost was so out of hand that this change was necessary. I genuinely fail to understand what the source of this other than Warwick. Maybe Hecarim?

Ghost was viable on literally everyone because of how strong it was. It was buffed back at the end of season 6 to increase the movement speed but also have that movement speed immediately start instead of growing to it. What you end up with is someone who moves 45% for 10 seconds faster meaning there's absolutely no drawback to taking it.

Now that it ramps up; it needs to be used preemptively to catch up or escape rather than have the immediate 45% increase MS from the beginning meaning champions like Viktor, Lux, Orianna etc... no longer benefit from it. Champs like Hecarim, Olaf etc... still work though.

Ghost was being taken by most every mid-laners due to its strength.

The mobility it provided was exceptionally useful both offensively and defensively.

They did it to keep bruisers and slow melee characters from giving their prey next to no escape options. When Darius and the like could just Ghost to keep on top of you while you're running away, you die, and being immobile was supposed to be a weakness of champs like that. Also Singed. Singed ruined it too.

Per the patch notes, the abuse case they were trying to deal with was its use as an immediate means of escape. You started to see it taken on most mid laners at high level because they could use it to instantly get out of trouble if they made a misstep. You'd also see it used similar to flash as an instant reaction type of spell to dodge skillshots.

I can see that taking 2 full seconds to ramp up likely hurts those who legitimately want to use the spell for other purposes too much, though. Maybe the movespeed could use to ramp over just 1 or 1.5 seconds to make it feel better for things like Hecarim, Olaf, Singed, etc. who use the spell more deliberately (as opposed to strictly reactionary use).

I mean, they said specifically why they made the changes in the patch notes. And WW and Hecarim aren't overly effected by the changes. They just have to hit ghost a second or so earlier before charging in.
