Tahm Kench isn't underpowered. [DISCUSSION]

Tahm Kench has the lowest winrate in Ranked Solo, with a 37% winrate, the average being 50%. However, despite his winrate, Tahm Kench isn't underpowered at all. He has great abilities, and does take some good skill.

The 1 major reason why he has such a low winrate, is because, he has nothing to help his team with. During teamfights, he mostly just sits there, and devours a teammate, and walks away.

What should really happen, is Tahm Kench, if he swallows a minion - he should get a special attack from devouring that type of minion.

It'll overall let Tahm Kench have much more viability, and be a lot more interesting.

Like, if Tahm Kench devours a Super Minion, he will shoot it out, and it will push enemies back and deal damage.

If he swallows a melee minion, it should deal X of a target's max health when he shoots it back out.

Something like that, to actually help his team, so that his winrate goes up. He has basically no mobility, and sits there in a teamfight.

He has a GREAT laning phase - however, he falls off really hard, and desperately needs some changes.

I would disagree. A GREAT Tahm Kench ult can completely WRECK an enemy team with the right engage.

The issue with Tahm Kench, is that he would excel in a more tanky meta, and thanks to Sated Devourer (possibly a LITTLE thanks to Runeglaive) we're no longer in a tank meta, so it's harder to get the right person into the backline with his ult.

He can also get 3 stacks of his passive up easily enough once he's tanky, and devour the enemy carries. I would say that he would be a great pairing with Kalista also (have him swallow an enemy carry, have Kalista ult him, then the enemy carry is "picked" off rather quickly).

He isn't underpowered, but he doesn't need any real boosts either, he just belongs in a meta that we currently aren't in. :(

I played against Tahm Kench in almost all the roles he fit in. He is mediocre as Jungle, and his top lane is lackluster. In the Jungle, he doesn't take much damage, but his clear time isn't the best either. In top lane, he can't do enough damage to threaten most bruisers and tanks until he hits level 6.

However, as support he is devastating. He can negate most engages as well as a Morgana black shield. Additionally, his W minion split hit box is huge. He can put out reliable poke, provide disengage, and put out good all in damage as support due to the utility in his kit, the 8% maximum health proc, and the % health damage on devour.

Tahm Kench might be under powered in his other roles, but he is great as support. In Tahm's team fighting is actually fairly decent. He can take himself and one front line of his choice into the enemy team. In the Champion Spot light, he took Sej with him and ulted into the middle of the enemy team. At that close range, most Engage tools such as Sej ultimate, Amumu ultimate, or Zac ultimate will hit everyone on the opposing team.

I do feel less useful in the middle of a team fight, but at the beginning and the end, I think I make up for it.

I can R someone behind their team to flank and engage. I can peel with Q and passive+Q, or passive+W. I can W someone to their back line. I try to stack my passive on the threats, so I am ready to Q-stun them if they ult. Plus, as support, I can FotM, Rand, Locket, etc.

If the fight goes well, I can W a teammate to catch someone when they try to run. I can R someone behind them when they try to run and clean it up.

If it doesn't go well, I can W a teammate to safety and prevent the ace.

Tahm is amazing. He's great for protecting carries, initiating fights, and making picks. His kit is just VERY difficult to use effectively and requires a lot of strategy.

His winrate is sort of meaningless. It's like how Azir is actually overpowered but does not have a high winrate, because actually using his kit is extremely difficult. He is like a more difficult version of thresh and requires a lot of thinking to use effectively, especially if you want to use him with people who do not know what his kit does.

He does not fall off after laning and is probably strongest after, provided he knows what to do in teamfights- screen, apply stacks, and then peel or isolate. He is best for making picks or catching people out of position. If you do it right, this is really powerful in uncoordinated games, because making a pick is great at closing games.

I don't think he works well top because he doesn't get to use a lot of his strengths there. He doesn't really have the damage to make kills and his lockdown can be a bit limited for those situations. Plus, everything he can bring top, he can bring on a support budget, so there's no real purpose to put a ton of money on him. His ratios aren't anything crazy, his bases are okay, but he works best as a

Tahm is bard... A good bard is a blessing and a bad bard is a lost cause. He has been out for like a week and a half and still has some bugs that need fixed. The buffs they are rolling to pbe are way too preemptive and they need to just wait it out.

Maybe if people stopped rushing Iceborn gauntlet, his win rate wouldn't be so poor. I had tons of games on him on PBE and building just straight tank with a rylais was great. They will be slowed when you spit them out, making ice born gauntlet a completely stupid choice. You simply get more out of the rylais..
