The Omni-lane Champions?
One thing that I am noticing these days is champions being able to play in the bot lane, mid lane, top lane, AND jungle. Is this by intent?

And which is your fave?

Same. Usually don't play him as support though, since I'd rather keep the flame to a minimun...
(I refuse to acknowledge his existence thank you)
hee hee hee (dies from a Liandry's shroom)
Your call if you refuse to acknowledge his existence, but if you insult him, that's pretty much hypocrisy, remember that.
But yeah, sometimes you have champs that can work anyways, depending on how good is a summoner with those.
Most of those could do those roles before. People tend to play them in those roles as FotM trends, but they've always worked that way. People are just afraid to go off of the meta so you see it a lot less than you would. That being said, there are significantly more options available now that make playing them in their "off meta" roles is easier to pull off, and looks more appealing to play. For the jungle part, when Riot changed the jungle they said that the new jungle items were designed to open up the role of jungle to almost any champ who wants to give it a go. People still basically use the same junglers they did before, but almost any champ in the game can jungle effectively now. It's just a matter of learning how to run that champ in jun correctly, but that's the case with on meta junglers too. You just haven't seen the off meta ones as much so you have to figure out on your own what the best path for them is usually. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't intentional or unintentional that they could do these things in the first play, but Riot as of the last yearish has specifically been pushing for champ diversity (or whatever it is that they choose to call it) so now it's intentional. So I'd say it's like 50/50.
I'm all for diversity... I am the person that brings Lissandra to support and play her like a 'Vanguard' (Which has WAY more success than you expect from a squishy battle mage)
It is a lot of fun to bring champions out of what is 'typical' and play around with mechanics.... Who knew that Leona could be a diving fighter? Or that Zyra could appear from the jungle and take over your lane? Or that Akali could possibly be a better jungler than a midlaner?
ADCs, which are dominating every lane.
