Riot Pls: Dynamic queue, sandbox, and League 2016

"When it comes to a philosophical stance, however, we do want to be clear: we believe that dynamic queue is closer to representing a healthy, competitive landscape in League of Legends than solo/duo queue."

You are joking right?

Riot.. I don't even know what you are thinking.

Until now, i still had hopes that Dynamic Queue will just end as a failed experiment and the old, way healthier and better ranked system would come back.

But you guys just confirmed that you actually believe in DynQ no matter what your playerbase thinks. I mean, every day there are minimum 2-3 topics with 100+ upvotes on the front page that list up why DynamicQue is not healthy for the game.

And i fully agree with every single one of them.

It's not worth giving up so many competive aspects of the game just for the possibility to play ranked with friends. As a solo player, the Queue times are too high and you cannot take sup as your secondary role because you instantly get it then.

But the main issues are that it simply is not healthy for the game to try to mix premade players with solo players in every possibility. You can see in normals already that this is not ending very well, but now, this is ranked, a Queue that should be taken seriously.

The System was perfect before season 6.

You had SoloQ for your skills as an actual solo player, And you had Teamranked for your skill as a team.

In this system, both had their own rankings.

Now, even when you play as a 5 man premade, every player is playing for his own ranking. Skills as a Team and Solo Skill get mixed into one and the same ranking.

For example, players that are bad Solo, but good as a 5 men team, end up in a higher league than they could achive as solo players.

In the old system, the ranking system was split into 2 different ladders for that, now, both influence the same ladder.

This will result that they would get crushed when they play solo and ruin their teammates game.

There are waaay more other negative aspects of DynQ that are listed in other discussions, i don't want to list up every single one of them now, you get the point.

DynamicQueue is unhealthy for the game

Riot, you can't tell us that you are not aware of the arguments that speak against DynamicQueue, still you never tried to counter a single one of them. On every topic you just say that you think it is healthy without giving good arguments why.

Because you have none. You just wan't people to invite more friends to the game so you can make even more money... while your old playerbase slowly but surely dissappears.

Every day, thousands of people uninstall the game because of the so good and healty DynamicQueue, also players that played season 1 and made you, Riot, become what you are now.

But now, you are just a company who doesn't care anymore about their playerbase, but just about money.

I really hope that you make up your minds and finally realize that the majority simply doesn't want DynamicQueue, no matter what you do and optimize on it, but currently, i just feel like you are going to ruin this game entierly and there is no reason for me to stay.

I must agree, thinking that dynamic queue is competitive is just plain stupid.

Solo vs Solo and Premade vs Premade. Thats the only way to be competitive and healthy.

Terchio5 votes

I can see the problems with premade vs. premade, though I'd still condone a solo mode.

First off, a 4-man team would be impossible premade vs. premade. There has to be a solo thrown in, a hopeful guinea pig who must rely on a 4-man bond to get the job done. Not easy to ask of someone when a fully functional solo system is available.

Second, even 2-man teams would be hard to work, as a 2-man team has to be matched with a 3-man team, something I'd wager to be much, much rarer. Being in a 3-man team would queue up like a ranked support role would now (instant queues), but 2-man would be next to impossible, and some people (my girlfriend and I included) just about refuse to play anything aside from 2-man.

So, yeah, if friends are going to play with one another, the ideal scenarios would be 3v3, 5v5, or basically give up. Even so, 2v2 mode would still be required to get 3v3 running, so you can't simply ban 2's, who would whine non-stop about day-long queues.

So yeah. I want a solo mode badly. But really, can it be done?

FearEngineer14 votes

Yeah it's really simple. You just offer incentives for solo players to play in the normal dynamic q with 4 mans. Because solo players should be getting bonuses, not the other way around.

49247830DEL16 votes

It can be done. It's called: Solo Q and Team Ranked. In this revolutionary system, you can take a 5 man team into ranked and test your cooperation skills against other teams of 5. Up for a challenge of pure skill, take a seat in a solo lane or jungle, or grab a duo partner and go bot in this epic SoloQ experience!

Whut Thuh 2 votes

exactly. my greatest argument is the fact that you have "league only friends" who met on league and play semi casually (no tryharding but still trying to climb) and then you have the team of 5 irl friends with each other on voice chat. who's gunna win? the voice chat team! before you could play solo and avoid that kind of mismatch but not anymore

612X0dbmDS42 votes

Somewhere along the line they are going to listen because this is beyond a vocal minority.

A lot of people that do enjoy dynamic Q has also believed that dynamic Q is only an addition to solo Q and in that case it's all fine. Now that their real intentions come forth even those that support dynamic Q is like

"WTF, you mean this is all we get?".

Alright, let us go through this post:

But you guys just confirmed that you actually believe in DynQ

Indeed, and Riot even explained why the prefer DQ (and it actually makes half-way decent sense even if you don't share the same priorities)

I mean, every day there are minimum 2-3 topics with 100+ upvotes on the front page that list up why DynamicQue is not healthy for the game.

You are making the mistake that the boards represent the community, in which it doesn't. Bottom line is, the majority of the playerbase does prefer DQ and it's just a smaller portion of the community (the solo players) who are vocal about the lack of support solo players get in DQ. Is it still a lot of people? Sure, but hardly the majority of the league community

It's not worth giving up so many competive aspects of the game just for the possibility to play ranked with friends.

Actually, as Riot stated in the blog, they prefer DQ because it does the opposite. They sacrificed individual skill for teamwork components in the competitive play (just like "traditional" sports). You may not agree with that preference, but it makes semi-decent sense.

As a solo player, the Queue times are too high and you cannot take sup as your secondary role because you instantly get it then.

Now I can't state this as a fact, but it makes more sense to me that Solo Players have shorter wait times than grouped players because of how matchmaking works. As for the support comment: that issue doesn't change with a different que. Support has always been in high demand and pretty much a guarenteed spot if it's in you selection (especially in lower elos)

But the main issues are that it simply is not healthy for the game to try to mix premade players with solo players in every possibility.

This I can agree with slightly, it wouldn't be an issue if solo players weren't under-appreciated in the Dynamic Queue system. This issue has been recognized by Riot (in the last paragraph I think?) and we can expect them to try to solve this issue (although it's probably going to take awhile).

The System was perfect before season 6.

That's just an exaggeration. There was a significant amount more trolls in (most) player's games that DQ has reduced, along with other issues I'm sure. Again, it comes down to preference as both systems had flaws

Riot, you can't tell us that you are not aware of the arguments that speak against DynamicQueue, still you never tried to counter a single one of them. On every topic you just say that you think it is healthy without giving good arguments why.

They directly addressed why they think DQ is better for the future of league in the blog along with acknowledging that DQ needs improvements to fit their idea for league...

Every day, thousands of people uninstall the game because of the so good and healty DynamicQueue, also players that played season 1 and made you, Riot, become what you are now.

Well, setting aside your dramatic form of writing there are some points I'd especially like to address in this statements: Riot doesn't owe anything to S1 players and should definitely not allow their preferences to influence their decisions for league's future for 1 simple reason; Old players have nostalgia. They don't enjoy changes and don't want a new system because that's not how they were conditioned to play League.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of newer Mobas with new features coming out. League has to adapt and change and become more dynamic to keep their community growing, whether you like it or not. If they hadn't done all these changes, players would be leaving for newer mobas with more attractive features and instead of the boards being blown up about how changes to the game are crap, it'll be about how Riot is dying by not adding anything new. It's a lose-lose situation.

But now, you are just a company who doesn't care anymore about their playerbase, but just about money.

This is simply unfair and untrue. How long have the boards been pleading and cursing out Riot about not caring about them? How long have they been complaining about the lack of interaction and listening to the community? Well they finally did: They gave you a blog for better interactions where they give you the best idea of what direction they are taking league. They provide reasoning and give their thought-process about how they prioritize their issues, and even recognize the issues the boards love to complain about.

But how do the boards respond? They find more reasons to complain simply because the direction league is taking doesn't match their personal preference. Even after Riot proves they are listening and address the issues and explain their reasoning, players don't actually care about that.

On a side note: It upsets me the people on the boards only care about their own personal preference for the game and fail to recognize the legitimacy of other people's preferences. Especially when it comes to Riot's own agenda for their game, it's as though they think there is only one way to take League and it's always your own opinion. League does not revolve around you, or even NA/EUW. It has to consider global issues beyond yours or my understanding, and so to be upset about simple things like personal preference pisses me off. The game will still be enjoyable for you so don't lie about that. Be happy that Riot is constantly changing the game and never stops trying to please everyone when their game is available in multiple countries.

I really hope that you make up your minds and finally realize that the majority simply doesn't want DynamicQueue, no matter what you do and optimize on it, but currently, i just feel like you are going to ruin this game entirely and there is no reason for me to stay.

Again, lets be real here. The majority of the league community does prefer DQ whether you do or don't. The game will still be fun and it's not worth leaving, especially when Riot has recognized and plans to try to solve Solo Player issues.

For the record: I am in support of Solo Q properties, but this does not make it ok to misinterpret or exaggerate details to better fit our opinions when in reality our opinions should change based off data.

Sorry for the rant, this has been my personal view on the subject. If you read it all then thanks I suppose lol, I'm more than happy to talk about opinions/preferences under a calm environment (that means not being being rude simply because we have different opinions, Boards). If you want clarification on something I said I'd be more than happy to do that as well

Thanks for reading, ~ Slythion ~

Shadòw12 votes

Thing is I simply can't see that the majority is enjoying DQ.

Not only on boards, also on fb and yt, and pretty much everywhere, people complain about DQ and get heavily upvoted.

While the boards are full of people complaining, DQ gets hated almost everywhere since it's release, and that has been months.

In addition of that even the Pros hate it.

Slythion9 votes

Once you understand the concept that people with strong negative views are much more vocal than players with moderate positive views, you'll understand why DQ gets such a bad rep.

DQ is orientated to the casual grouped players, which make up the majority of the league playerbase

Shadòw11 votes

With that concept it would mean that if they would go back to the old system that a big shitstorm would break out and the removal of DQ would get even more hate.

I simply can't imagine that, there would maybe be some posts about it for maybe 2-3 days, just like dominion, and then the community would accept it and nobody would care about DQ anymore.

I have never seen a thing getting so much hate. Every change or thing riot makes gets haters, but usually they die down after a few days.

But DynamicQ gets more and more hate daily without it dying down.

The reason for that is that the big part of the community does indeed hate it. More and more people start to use the boards because they simply don't want DQ.

superfire4442 votes

Other big games have tried something like dynamic queue too and had to reverse that decision because of all the backlash. There literally 1 positive thing coming from dynamic queue --> playing ranked with friends. The thing is that this was possible before dynamic queue too. You had normals to play with friends or 5v5 ranked or even 3v3 ranked.

Riot shouldn't put everything on the same ladder.

No one ever complained about soloQ before dynamic queue. Why on earth would you change a winning team? If it is to get more friends to play ranked and buy skins they are sadly mistaken. The non-casual players who complain about dynamic queue are the ones spending massive amounts of money on league. Terminating them is an extremely poor business decision.

Quepha5 votes

{quoted}

In addition of that even the Pros hate it.

They hate it for completely different reasons that are 100% irrelevant to You and I.

Most of the hate for dynamic queue is just a new spin on the "I'm stuck in ELO hell!" where dynamic queue is the new boogeyman that's keeping the average player in silver even though they FOR REAL ABSOLUTELY BELONG IN PLAT.

Shadòw5 votes

I'm in plat 4, was plat 5 last season and have a positive winrate.

Still i enjoyed s5 and s4 way more for entierly different reasons.

DynQ doesn't get it's hate from these guys, they aren't even getting taken srsly, the hate is from ppl who think the Q is destroying the competitivness of the game

The amount of people who say they belong into a higher elo is still the same, there were just as many as with the old system, just instead of SoloQ they now blame DynQ, but thats not the origin of the hate

Shinjusuke2 votes

apologies for shitty formatting cuz in a phone and typing in phones sucks:

  1. That hyperbole from OP, amirite? Lol

  2. I think OP and the boards are actually right, when they say the majority hates dynamic queue. Sure, both you and Riot raise a valid point about vocal minorities and how "NA boards aren't the world". That's true. HOWEVER, not only does Riot have a history of BLATANTLY lying regarding "what do other regions think" (as VERY often those regions ARE complaining as currently as NA is, Riot just assumes posters won't /can't check other regions), they also conveniently NEVER release any data or numbers to back up their claims. They hide behind a bullshit excuse that they're unwilling to prove and looks unlikely. The duty of proof is on them, as a company with unhappy customers.

  3. Furthermore, I think you and Riot are mistaking apathy with approval. Were you correct about the majority actually LIKING dynamic queue, it would stand to basic reasoning that there would be a subset of players would be just as numerous and vocal in the defense of dynamic queue for fear of vocal negative getting it removed, and it is pretty clear that this is NOT the case. As such, it can be surmised that the majority Is of a somewhat neutral opinion. Riot chooses, as they always do, to see this nonvocal group as supportive because it better suits Riot's self-praising mindset. In reality, it makes FAR more sense to view this group as those who simply don't care enough to be vocal, EVEN IF THEY ALSO DISAPPROVE. It's far more likely that the vocal minority is PROPORTIONAL to the views of the majority, and the majority either doesn't hate it enough to say something (but is still angry with it) or feels their opinion had already been expressed and sees no reason to grab a pitchfork. If this topic were, say, champion balance, you might be right. But dynamic queue affects every player and every player has an opinion, even if it doesn't go to an extreme. Pretending "not hating it enough to post about it" is equivalent to supporting it is simply either naive, or an excuse being made to not acknowledge the mass disapproval.

  4. Yes, Riot SHOULD treat their old players with more far more respect. They're the ones that kept their game from fucking DYING when it was new by supporting it. they're the ones who've been through and (though some grudgingly) supported the game and company. They're likely, in most cases, the ones who've spent the most money, who've been the most supportive of the E-sports scene Riot has tried to get started, who are the most passionate about the game and most dedicated to its long life. Writing off your old players is how MMOs die. That's just a blatant, repeatedly proven historical fact of the genre. Old players keep a game going.

Again, sorry for shit formatting, but I was getting real tired of some of the defense arguments (even though yours are well stated and valid opinions) and had to say my piece

SkyWielder23 votes

Okay... Whew, here we go... The truth hurts right? Dynamic queue is a healthy system. It focuses more on making this a team based game like it already is! League is supposed to be about working as a team with a team comp of no one saying "I'm going this champ in this role, screw meta." Don't call it a failed and unhealthy system just because you don't like it or because you desperately want duo queue back. Dynamic queue is a completely valid and functional system. And you want to know why RIOT isn't responding? Because in every 'post' the people complaining about it make is just swearing at them and not forming the post with an understanding of RIOT's position and the fact that (shocker) They are human beings too.

Shadòw31 votes

People that are pissed of for a reason. Many ppl have spent a lot of money on this game and now riot is changing one of the core aspects of the game that hard.

Yes the game should be teambased, but things like 1 solo player with 4 premades or 1 solo player and 2 duos simply isn't healthy. Most of this game just result in that either the premades troll/flame the solo player or the other way around.

2 different queue, teamranked and soloq, was simply the best imo.

And you have no right to say it is the "truth", it is just your opinion. Nothing you could be blamed for as ppl have different opinions, but fact is that the majority simply doesn't like DynamicQ and thinks it is unhealty.

SkyWielder10 votes

Actually it's not opinion: Everything I said is true regardless that you hate dynamic queue. However I agree with the other things you said there. While I do think that a solo queue would be beneficial and part of this is me playing devil's advocate. It's just not very likely they will add it back.

Shadòw23 votes

The only thing you said is that it is healty.

And i say SoloQueue is healthier.

These are opinions, not facts

there is no exact definition of healthy

RG Velean6 votes

Actually, if you read the article they posted, they are working to make dynamic queue more viable for the solo players. Also, this has be raised in a separate thread, but the boards and reddit are not a majority of the community, you are an overwhelming minority of the 70 million + players. A couple thousand people is nowhere near a majority. Besides, a lot of people either don't mind, or enjoy dynamic queue.

trash sion9 votes

Dynamic Queue can never be viable for solos. Even if they make it so solos are ALWAYS matched against solos, my Solo ranking is mixed with premade rankings. You're also assuming that we're a minority, but you forget that nowhere near EVERY player uses the boards. Among players who use the boards (i.e. the players who are dedicated to the game and care about it), there is a clear majority, otherwise the upvotes and downvotes would be equal.

Just because people choose to queue as individual, doesn't mean they magically stop playing as a team.

No, that's not what they said. Period. More period. They said that if they optimize DynQ properly, it _should _ be better than soloQ, but if it isn't they will consider both.

You see, usually it's (though not always) the community that isn't listening to RIOT, not vice versa. URF is a good example.

Have fun downvoting me to oblivion.

On top of this, I find the mastery system to be insulting to support players like myself. Using a recent Ascension game as an example, I, as Thresh, aided two of my teammates in getting S ranks by deliberately not picking up any Relics, not ascending, and getting only 3 kills (3/5/38), finishing the game with 3 points. And after doing all this for the good of the team, champion mastery rated my performance as a D. That is incredibly disheartening to have what I consider a great game (that is, one where I accomplished everything I set out to do) and to be told my performance was terrible by the mastery system.

That doesn't mean that it is a majority of the league community as a whole. Mostly, people use boards, facebook, and online sites to complain about things they do not like. It's unconvincing is all. It's akin to watching fox news and expecting it to be an accurate representation of reality, or just thinking the loudest and most vocal people truly represent the populace.

But even there the majority is against DynamicQ.

I wish Riot would talk WITH players instead of lecturing to them. Instead, Riot goes on radio silence for months and only comes back to make extremely measured statements that don't really say anything at all. In the spirit of being constructive, here are examples from the Riot Pls post:

League is aimed to be a "competitive hobby... that stays with you through the years", and is compared to team sports. OK, but consider the different contexts: dailyish pick up games of these sports are often played at school, where games of league aren't going to happen. Recreational leagues have organizers and parents are willing to drive you to games - neither of those are true in league, at least not on a comparable scale of size. Lastly, the example of shooting freethrows at the park is either sandbox mode or queueing solo, both of which are seemingly neglected by Riot atm. My point is that League is played differently than those sports, so it should be differently supported. Frankly, I think it's a bit unrealistic to expect groups of players to remain together as a unit through the years and it limits the flexibility of when you play that's actually a big advantage of the game existing in an online format rather than needing in-person players, like the sports listed.

Riot chooses to frame the issue as "dynamic queue undermines individual recognition of skill", when the reality is that the queue directly impacts solo players' enjoyment of the game itself. The big difference is that the "recognition of skill" is the very same thing that determines how matchmaking works, so you're actually compromising the quality of your games by issuing a player the same MMR when they queue solo as when they queue with a premade. For a lot of players, the measure/communication of their skill is less important than getting high quality games, and players seek out the ranked queue for the latter as it's the queue where people are on their A-game, where premade MMR spread is restricted, where the banning format is more common, etc.

Lastly, if "a healthy, competitive landscape" is Riot's aim, then please support this in kind: provide in-game voice chat, make it public knowledge which players are premade, offer players an option to leave games that start 4v5 (no sport EVER is going to play that game out), and give us sandbox mode for practicing mechanics. This isn't a laundry list of requests (replays where?), it's just the list that's directly relevant to making league a truly competitive game.

So, Riot, if you actually read through any of this, please please pleeease just TALK WITH the players who dislike dynamic queue. I'm sure you've seen the complaints 100x over by now, but by the way you talk about them, it really doesn't seem like you understand where they're coming from. And if I'm mistaken and it just appears this way because you've been very measured with the presentation, then I would ask that you drop the filter a bit. It might not be your intent, but writing in that fashion comes off as very removed from the players' experiences and concerns.

Thanks for reading the wall.

As a solo player, the Queue times are too high and you cannot take sup as your secondary role because you instantly get it then.

Stop saying queue times are a product of dynamic queue, they are 100% a product of the role selector at most elos people are playing at. The only way to speed up queue times is to remove the role selector, meaning you go back to having extremely good odds of being placed in a game where you must take a role you don't want or know how to play.

"Your system was perfect before Season 6".

Something never said by anyone before Season 6.

Shadòw3 votes

maybe perfect is a little bit too much..

But it was fine and i never had a problem with it.

I just liked that soloQ and teamranked were 2 different Queues with different ranks, like it should be because both have different skills required.

Don't fix what isn't broken

KillerKell12 votes

This is what I'll say.

They SHOULD NOT require different Skills.

It's a Team Game.

As we've been told by Pros, Diamonds, Challengers and numerous Streamers and YouTubers, the way to climb in Solo is to be Mechanically Better and play a Carry. To largely not worry about the 'team', Win your Lane and try to snowball that into as much advantage as you can.

Now, we are bringing much more of the Team Aspect into it... actual Skills that the Pros use. Don't get me wrong, there is still the 'Mechanically Better and Play a Carry' aspect, no League has gone with a Non-Carry Meta. But those guys are in general ROLES, like Huni taking Quinn/Fiora in top, obviously the ADCs, and so on. But what you don't see if 5 People all taking Carries, which is what they say SHOULD happen in Solo Q if each of the 5 is doing their best to advance.

Instead, in the Pro Game you see Utility Champions, and you see the team UTILIZE that Utility through communication and practice. You see Maoki Top COUNTERING that Carry. You see Janna busting out the Disengage.

If all 5 Players on a Solo Q Team were trying to climb, by what we've been told, then all 5 should be on Hard Carries and trying to be Mechanically Better than the other Team. Which is why for the longest time Supports in Q have felt like they are crapped upon. Because most Supports bring some form of Utility that REQUIRES Team Work to do their job... and largely they get flamed for making a "Team Play" and not having it followed up while everyone else is trying to 'Solo Carry'.

See, the REAL Problem is Roles that DO matter to Teams... are directly being told they shouldn't play that if they want to climb. But now we have the opportunity to get with 2, 3 or even 4 others... and not always the same 2, 3 or 4... and showcase TEAM Skills, to show case our ability to set up TEAM Plays, to not try to depend on 5 different people all being Solo Carry.

When you watch the 'How To Climb' Videos, all you hear is "Let the other schmuck Support, you can't climb as a Support". However, no Pro Player would call their Support a schmuck because they know how vital the role is to their Success.

In other words, 'How to Climb' and 'How to be a Good Team' are vastly different things... and they shouldn't be. Being able to be an effective part of the Team IS the Skill. The most important one. And the one that was severely missing from Solo/Duo Q.

Now, as Dynamic moves forward, the 'How to Climb' Videos will start saying things like "Get good at a role, and get with players that are good in their roles. Find players that you can compliment and that compliment you. Because a well devised Team Strategy will generally Win unless you are completely outclassed by the Talent of the Enemy." And things like "Learn to be a good Support, because it's a unique role that many can not do well and vastly increases a Team's chances of Winning. So being a good Support will make you valuable to others, while ensuring you aren't let down by bad Support Play."

Because the game will shift more to how you can do in a Team Dynamic... which is true in the NFL, NBA and Professional League of Legends.

Niaphim2 votes

You can never expect the same level of coordination from a bunch of random people and a premade with good synergy and on voice chat. Do you just take several people in decent physical condition and who can play, say, basketball or hockey, on a decent level and send them to a local competition? No, you TRAIN them, they learn how to play with each other. Don't you watch LCS? Whichever team changes their roster starts losing hardcore 'cough' TSM 'cough', then they say in interviews that "they need to work on teamplay". Go on, explain how does one adapt to the playstyle of his teammates in first few minutes of a game. I'm pretty sure that whoever can do this is a legit LCS material.

i hate peoples who defend rito no matter if they use illogical non-factual fully emotional arguments.

And thoses who use theses kind of facts : 100% of the players database use the dynamicQ as thier favorite competitive Queue yeah right like we have a choice FFS.

i didn't put a freaking dime since they disabled soloQ and i hope alot of other peoples will just do the same and i also wish you solo players just like me stop queueing in dynamicQ to make sure to force theses premade to get 5 or to find no game at all.

I see so many people complain about dq cause they are against a pre made team. My complaint is I am ALWAYS grouped with a shitty 4 man team. I've explained this before. Basically what upsets me is riot will match make me with a premise 4 man group made up of lower elo players from s5 (all low silver) get matched with me who was a gold 3 and we get out against mostly solo/duo q players from higher mmrs. So yea my top lane and bot lane are absolutely getting murdered and it's not their fault they are newish to the game going against gold 5s. But I'm supposed to be able to make up for it and carry them. Sure I'll carry 1/5 maybe and win. But give me a break riot. Every game I'm partnered with a 4man because I'm solo? This is why I stopped playing ranked. Hopefully before the season is over, they will fix it so I can keep my gold border

It is a great system that should have been attached to the previous one, but put duos into the dynamic queue and leave the old system as solo ONLY. The problem is, Riot removed things and pushed this on everyone.

They removed team ranked which annoyed people They removed team builder which annoyed people They removed any semblance of a SOLO queue which annoyed people

What they added in return was ONLY the "option" of queuing into Premade Queue, or don't play ranked at all, because there is no way to opt out of it the way they want it done, and that is the problem. Dynamic queue is perfectly fine and a great system...as an addition to what we had, not as a replacement for it. That is 100% where Riot failed and they are clueless of that fact or too stubborn to admit it, since THEY want it that way. They seem to forget:

  • Not everyone plays league to socialize
  • Not everyone has 3-4 friends (rl) that play league (I have zero for example)
  • Not everyone comes on to make new friends on league

The fact is, Riot is confusing what THEY want League to be now, and what it already was, and what the people playing it want it to be. Adding features is great, when you aren't removing 2-3 OTHER features in the process.

This is my problem with RIOT. They have 60million players and they are giving them less and less options. It will stagnate the game and like has been happening, people will leave because they will get bored. Already happened to most of the people I use to play with.

Happened to ALL the people I played with :( all 3 roommates have long since quit, both my friends from work quit, both the other two friends I talked into playing gave up a year ago.

Riot is so excited about "play with friends". Play with what friends? All my friends gave the game a big middle finger and don't want to bother even trying to come back anymore.

Riot, please start listening to your community

This will make my day until Dynamic Q is finally out of competitive play, it's ok for normals, but for ranked it's just bad.

I've played only a handful of matches over the past month or so because I'm tired of the company lying. I'm a solo player. I don't want 4 premades on both teams because then it barely matters how much skill I have, it comes down to how cooperative the premade will be with me and just praying they're not 3 feeders and 1 person trying to carry them against an actual good premade. How is that healthy? You know your community is toxic as fuck and I can almost guarantee there are minimum 1-2 reports filed in every single match (or they should've been and people were too lazy/didn't care), how do you expect a healthy environment for the solo player? Also thanks for making elo boosting a legal part of your system :)
