The New Soraka Changes

In the PBE, Soraka has been getting some changes. The following changes are: For Starcall - Calls down a star from Soraka to a target location. Enemies standing in the explosion radius take 70/110/150/190/230 (+ .35 AP) magic damage and are slowed by 30% for 2 seconds.

If Starcall damages a champion, Soraka gains Alignment, restoring up to 30/45/60/75/90 (+ .4 AP) health and 20/30/40/50/60 (+ .2 AP) mana over 5 seconds.

For Astral Infusion - Restores 70/100/130/160/190 (+ ,6 AP) health to another champion ally.

If cast while affect by Alignment, Soraka will transfer the effect to her target with a refreshed duration.

Cannot be cast if Soraka is below 5% health.

These changes seem great and all, but Starcall no longer does any damage in the middle of it and what's left is a spell that does basically no damage. Yes, I know there might be sudden changes and supports shouldn't really do damage, but I think the least they could do is increase the base damage or ability power ratio or even both.

it was said that the center dmg is no longer applicable but the whole area now does the same amount, which would be a nice change IF some parts of her kit worked ._.

Pretty sure they never said that. The whole area does the damage that it's always done.

you're right, it's only the slow application

They probably got rid of the damage to keep her from being the full package. She heals, heals, heals some more, restores mana, silences, snares, slows, if you give her damage as well then she has literally everything. As a support you really don't need any damage anyway (I either build tank or utility) so the lack of damage doesn't hurt her support as much as off meta roles. My main concern is with her self heal moved to her Q, maxing out her W for allies will hurt her more in the long run, but maxing her Q will make her seem less viable. Just my opinion since I haven't gotten a chance to actually play her with the changes yet.

That center spot was so hard to hit, you barely noticed it anyway. And if you noticed, it was for the slow rather than the extra damage.

She really has too much damage for a main healer anyway and Alignment now makes it easier to level Q sooner if you want damage.

I play her Mid and Jungle and I never really got to complain about her damage. If anythingg this change makes her off meta roles stronger, because you can now level your damage and self heal at the same time. and you have a reliable slow, which makes it easier to hit with Equinox as well.

Maxing W only makes sense if you have to play passive, but if you can use your Q properly you actually have more ally heal now. the total base values when you transfer Alignment are higher and you got a total 1.0 AP ratio now.

Well that'd be fine if her base healing wasn't nerfed, but it was. I agree with your second point though (Q/W maxing).

I really like tose AP ratios on Alignment now, much better than the innitial ones.

It won't really matter though. It won't do her any good in the laning phase. And once she gets to team fighting, it will barely do anything for her self-heal. It has to apply over 5 seconds and cannot be proc'ed multiple times by hitting multiple champions. They could make it a 1.0 ratio and it wouldn't make that much of a difference because it will take 5 seconds to regen and she will never have enough AP as a support to make it significant. She'll be easy to take down and won't be able to regen fast enough to spam heals. Which kind of defeats her purpose.

since most Soraka players didn't level Q anyway they were healing every 5 seconds anyway, so that does not make much difference.

The lack of multihit is bad though.

I am going to miss getting rewarded for hitting more ppl with Q and getting some nice health back. Now doesn't matter how many you hit the buff you get remains the same.

I think like this in regards to that. should make a rate of the Mana recovery 0.3
