If Riot is against "degenerate gameplay" than why hasn't Malzahar been looked at yet
Malzahar has long been considered one of, if not the most "degenerate" champions to lane against. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, check out this statement by Jinxylord https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/nx0VVF2o-why-do-supports-get-nerfed-when-they-see-play-outside-of-bot-but-adcs-dont?comment=000b If ap janna/lulu was considered degenerate and lacking counter play, I really can't see how malzahar isn't. If Malzahar's numbers are too low, he's out of meta. If his numbers are just a little bit too high than he becomes a nightmare to play against. The only reason he isn't played competitively is because of that. The issue with Janna/lulu is that they had the waveclear/damage of an ap mid but had the safety of a support. Malzahar is quite comparable. He has a spell shield, a silence, and a point and click suppression which is solely the most annoying ability by far in this game. And if you want to talk about safety and consistency, all Malzahar does is push you under tower all of laning phase with little to no counterplay until he has a sizeable CS lead in which he can easily out duel you with. Even if he does somehow get behind (even though his kit is designed to not get behind so it would take a fucking idiot) it doesn't matter since once he hits level 6 he can poke down and out duel most midlaners. If by some miracle he comes out of laning phase feeding, than he's still useful as fuck since he has a silence and a point and click suppression. Shouldn't a champion that is designed around getting kills at level 6 not be as useful if he doesn't get a kill at level 6? Makes no sense.
Just some thoughts.
