balanced champion close to 50% winrate at all elos.

get reworked in a sloppy way by removing the person who does the rework to work on tft balance and put someone else on the rework who has different idea what to do with him.

release the rework intentionally overpowered and unbalanced.

nerf him so hard he is terrible now.

now we have a bad champion who still hard stomps low elo and is really bad at high elo. less healthy less build variety more linear than before.

thank you for nothing.

revert the rework. you could do it with KogMaw when it made him less healthy. you gave other champions partial reverts when they were made less healthy than before.

give garen villainy back and make his ultimate the old magic damage again. buff garens w window to 60% damage reduction and remove the shield. give garen 50 resistances back. give garen 10 spins on his e back.

the rework meant to give garen more item builds that he can go into.

was this goal achieved? no.

now he only has one single rune and item build available when all of his old rune and item builds are useless because riot never bothered to try and balance the attack speed with his old builds.

Agree with everything but the villainy, removeing that was the one good thing they did with the rework

Why is garen not allowed to be good in pro play or high elo? I hear casters and riot say "oooo durrr he too ezzzz lol" or whatever but there are champions as simple as garen that see pro play.

Removing villainy was a good thing, no matter what angle you look at it from. DO NOT bring it back, no matter what other direction you decide to take Garen.

Automatically dying because he's in range (despite effectively having the HP and resists of a full tank), which is almost inevitable in many fights, just because you have a lead (or sometimes not even) is not a healthy design.

This is part of the reason why %HP damage in general is bad for the game. It makes you powerful when you aren't ahead, and more powerful when the enemy is ahead. If the point is to devalue the impact of gold to mitigate power differences, it should be from a source that everyone has access to, not which champion you pick. Being the counter to 'winning' isn't healthy. At all.

The only exception is cases of %HP damage where the damage on average relative to other abilities will be significantly lower than most abilities unless an enemy is stacking health, or in other words, the damage the ability deals would be %HP, not %HP bonus damage. You know, so its ONLY effective VS hp stacking, rather than also letting you burst squishies.

But Riot doesn't want a balanced game.

literally all they had to do was make conq work on him.

BUT NO! the answer was make conq work on him + give him dumb numbers. yep lmao.

turned him from a cool tank character to a durpy dps melee guy who spins

And most importantly, give Garen the URF E damage stack bug back. Absolute garbage champion there without it.

Lol I remember they let him drown in 46% winrate after destroying him with nerfs right up until they made his prestige skin where they finally give him a compensation buff to try to sell the skin and even then hes 49% winrate. smh.

all riot reworks in the past 2 years(including mini reworks) have been utter garbage. Its not just a CertainlyT problem at this point, its all developers.

Garen is definitely not unusable bud. His tank steroid is insanely good and the damage he puts out with conq demands cc and kite (hey w grants cc reduction too)

He's definitely not Op, maybe a little in the early game, but he is FAR from unusable lmao.

Try playing him mid.
