Basically:
- Your team had a significant amount of magic damage
- Rammus had Ninja Tabi to help deal with the enemy autoattackers
- Taliyah was fed and Sona was building pure AP
While I'm not going to say it was the optimal decision, it wasn't a bad one in the given situation.

Against an AP heavy team it is still viable on her.
